* About Bowling's Clash of Champions: The Clash will bring together 16 champions of USBC events and the U.S. Open ranging in age from teenagers to seniors competing for $100,000 in prize money on national television. The event will take place May 7-8 at the USBC Convention in Kansas City, Mo., and taped for broadcast on CBS Sports May 10 from 5-6 p.m. Eastern and May 11 from 4-5 p.m. Eastern.
* About Lynda Barnes: A three-time U.S. Amateur champion and record 11-time Team USA member, Barnes, 40, of Double Oak, Texas, has won dozens of medals in international competition, including two silvers and one bronze at the 2007 Women's World Championships. Barnes, whose husband is PBA superstar Chris Barnes, is a member of the World Bowling Writers Hall of Fame and was the 1988 and 1989 Collegiate Bowler of the Year at San Jose State. * Barnes' thoughts: "I am excited about having an opportunity to compete in an arena setting, not to mention a chance at $50,000. It will be a tough field but our family is known for doing well at special events - can you say Roll to Riches? - so I will try to hold up my end this year."
* About David O'Sullivan: By winning the USBC Team USA Trials, O'Sullivan, 23, of Orlando, Fla., earned a spot on Team USA in 2007 for the first time. He proved he belonged on Team USA in May when he won medals in five of six events at the Men's American Zone Championships in Guatemala. As a member of Junior Team USA in 2004, O'Sullivan won a silver and bronze medal at the World Youth Championships. * O'Sullivan's thoughts: "I'm very excited about competing in this event. I think I've got a chance to win because I'm getting better and better everyday and have been learning a great deal out here on the PBA Tour. I am putting all the pieces of the puzzle together, and I'm building my game to play on any condition by constantly adding tools to my bag."
* About the USBC Team USA Trials: Open to all USBC members, the USBC Team USA Trials offer bowlers an opportunity to earn spots on Team USA and compete for their country in international events around the world.
