The 2008-09 Lumber Liquidators Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) Tour will commence its 50th anniversary tour season with a Major – the
PBA World Championship - to be held at Northrock Lanes in Wichita, Kansas, Sunday, Oct. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 26. The live ESPN-televised finals will take place at Noon CT on Sunday, Oct. 26.

The Ebonite Lahti Open kicks off with Juniors Squad

The
Ebonite Lahti Open is the 15th stop of the 2008 European Bowling Tour and one of the Tour's "Challenger" events. The tournament will be held from Oct. 12-19, 2008 at Jouni Helminen's Lahti Bowl in Lahti, Finland, and offers total prize money of 42.000 Euro, or about 56,850 U.S. dollars. The winner will receive the 8.000 Euro top prize.

PBA names events to recognize sponsors and legends
PBA Tour to recognize Salvino and the Carters as it celebrates 50th anniversary

To help commemorate its 50th anniversary season, the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), today announced a 2008-09 PBA Tour schedule that includes the naming of tournaments in honor of more former legends of the game and to recognize its sponsors.

National Sports Festival is Japan's largest annual multi-sports meeting. The Prefectures (Ken) alternate to host and organize the annual event in cooperation with the respective sports federations. Oita-Ken was the host prefecture this year.

Baker wins fourth consecutive PBA Senior Player of the Year honor
Webb is Rookie of the Year, Baldwin receives sportsmanship award

The PBA announced today that
Tom Baker (left) won 2008 PBA Senior Player of the Year honors,
Wayne Webb was named PBA Senior Rookie of the Year and
Fred Baldwin was awarded the first Dick Weber Sportsmanship Award. The awards for the 2008 PBA Senior Tour season were voted on by PBA membership and national media.
