2008 European Bowling Tour Rankings 

Defending champions Penny, Palermaa atop the EBT rankings

2008EBT08KirstenPenny_small.jpg 2008EBT08OskuPalermaa_small.jpg 2007 European Bowling Tour ranking champions Kirsten Penny (l.), England and Osku Palermaa (r.), Finland finished the men's and women's rankings in the Brunswick Belgian Open in third place to lead the EBT rankings after 8 out of 18 events with 309 and 337 points, respectively.

Palermaa overtook previous leader Peter Ljung, Sweden, by 12 points. Ljung slipped to second place with 325.

2008EBT08MartinLarsen_small.jpg With his victory in the Belgian Open, his second EBT title of the year after the Luxembourg Open, Martin Larsen (l.), Sweden, moved into third place with 314. Swedish and Finnish bowlers have split all eight EBT titles this season.

2008WECNinaFlack_small.jpg On the women's side, Penny maintained a 27 point lead over Nina Flack (r.), Sweden, who was the best woman in Gent and second in the previous event in Aalborg. Flack moved from fourth to second with 181 points.

Ghislaine van der Tol, Netherlands, fell one spot to third with 275.

The top eight men and the top eight women at the end of the ranking season will qualify for the 2009 World Ranking Masters in Naples, Italy. In addition, the top 16 men and the top 16 women will qualify for the EBT Masters in May 2008 in Aalborg, Denmark.

The 2008 European Bowling Tour takes a three-week hiatus due to the Women's European Championships in Odense, Denmark, and will continue with the Storm Dutch Open 2008, one of the Tour's "Major", which will be held at Dolfijn Bowling in Scheveningen, Netherlands from June 25-29, 2008.
