2008 European Bowling Tour Rankings

Palermaa, Penny regain lead in EBT rankings

2008EBT10OskuPalermaa_small.jpg 2008EBT08KirstenPenny_small.jpg Defending ranking champions Osku Palermaa, Finland and Kirsten Penny, England, regained the lead in the 2008 European Bowling Tour rankings in the 4th Storm San Marino Open, the 10th of 18 ranking events this season.

Palermaa finished the tournament, a major on the EBT, in 9th position, while Penny was 15th overall and second in the women's rankings. Palermaa has a total of 391 ranking points and Penny 419.

2008WYCDominicBarrett_small.jpg 2008WECNinaFlack_small.jpg There was nothing what Dominic Barrett, England and Nina Flack, Sweden, who overtook the lead in the previous tournament in Scheveningen, Netherlands, could do against it as they both are in Orlando, Fla. for the 10th World Youth Championships, where Barrett claimed the Singles gold medal on Saturday. Both slipped one spot to second with 375 and 382 points, resp.

2008EBT10NicoleSanders_small.jpg 2008WECTinaHulsch_small.jpg There were no changes among the top 8 in the women's division as the San Marino Open drew only 23 women. Nicole Sanders (left), Netherlands, leaped from 5th to a tied third place with compatriot Ghislaine van der Tol, both 315 points, who is in Orlando as well as fifth placed Tina Hulsch (right), Germany, who won the gold medal in Doubles (with Birgit Pöppler) on Sunday.

Places 6-8 belong to Anne Lorraine Gales, Denmark, 242; Wendy Kok, Netherlands, 223; and Krista Pöllänen, Finland, 222.

2008EBT08ToreTorgerson_small.jpg 2008EBT1PaulMoor_small.jpg In the men's division, Tore Torgersen (left), Norway (359) and Peter Ljung (355) overtook Martin Larsen, both Sweden (342). 3-time European Ranking champion Paul Moor (right) continued his march to the top and sits in sixth place with 223. San Marino runner-up

Thomas Gross (below  left), Austria, moved from 16th to 7th place with 219, while past World Ranking Masters Stuart Williams, England, rounds out the top 8 with 210.

2008EBT10RemyOng_small.jpg 2007EBT18ThomasGross_small.jpg San Marino champion Remy Ong (right) from Singapore moved into a tied 11th place with 170 points while women's ranking winner Marilyn Planchard, who became the second multiple winner this season (Flack was the first), is 10th in the women's division with 214 points.
