England’s Richard Teece becomes 2016 EBT Men’s Point Ranking winner

Richard Teece of England finished in 16th place in the men’s ranking (19th overall) of the Qatar Open to become the winner of the 2016 European Bowling Tour Men’s Point Ranking. Trailing by four points, Teece overtook 2015 ranking winner Jesper Svensson who did not compete in Qatar by 61 points to finish the season atop the leaderboard.

Osku Palermaa of Finland, Martin Larsen, Sweden and Dominic Barrett, England, round out the top 5. Qatar Open runner-up Pontus Andersson earned the maximum 250 pints in Qatar to jump into sixth place. The only non-European among the top 12 who qualified for the EBT Masters is Hall of Famer Parker Bohn III, United States.

Laura Beuthner of Germany wins 2016 EBT Women’s Ranking

Though not reaching the finals in the Qatar Bowling Open, the final event of the 2016 European Bowling Tour, Laura Beuthner of Germany received 75 points to maintain an 82-point lead over 2015 ranking leader Jenny Wegner of Sweden. Diana Zavjalova of Latvia earned 250 points in Qatar to rocket into 10th place and to earn berth into the EBT Masters for the 2016 season. In the top 12 are two non-Europeans, Sin Li Jane of Malaysia (4th) and Danielle McEwan, USA (7th).
