Daria Pajak of Poland was the fourth-best woman in the 30th Irish Open Championships, which concluded Sunday, Jan. 21, at Leisureplex Stillorgan in Dublin, Ireland, to leap from sixth to third place in the 2018 European Bowling Tour women’s point ranking.

The Professional Women’s Bowling Association champion and 2017 PWBA Tour Rookie of the Year (pictured right and above) received 30 points in the “satellite” level tournament, the lowest of five EBT tournament categories (platinum, gold, silver, bronze and satellite).

Pajak, who cashed points in all three tournaments so far, has accumulated 195 points. She was the lone top 10 bowler who competed in Dublin.

Brunswick Ballmaster Open champion Sin Li Jane (left) of Malaysia continued to lead the ranking after 3 out of 13 events with 239 points. Her fellow countrywoman Shalin Zulkifli, stayed in second place with 208 points.

AIK International Tournament champion Bernice Lim (right) of Singapore slipped to fourth place with 194 points and is followed by 2015 and 2017 point ranking winner Jenny Wegner of Sweden (172), and Lim’s fellow countrywomen Daphne Tan (167), Cherie Tan (160) and Shayna Ng (150).

Nicole Sanders (left), Netherlands, won the women’s ranking in the Irish Open and received 50 points, her first points in the 2018 season, to move into 27th place in the ranking.

The fourth tournament of the 2018 European Bowling Tour season, the Brunswick Euro Challenge, a “platinum” level event, will start Saturday, March 10, at Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring near Munich, Germany, and will conclude on Sunday, March 18.

The 2018 European Bowling Tour features 13 tournaments in 10 countries including two “platinum”, two “gold”, three “silver”, three “bronze” and three “satellite” events, which will offer total prize fund of more than 560.000 Euro.

The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 8 men and top 8 women, who will be eligible to compete in the 12th EBT Masters July 8, 2019 at Bowling Chamartín in Madrid, Spain.
