With her victory in the 48th Brunswick Ballmaster Open, Sunday, January 14, in Helsinki, Finland, Sin Li Jane of Malaysia took the lead in the 2018 European Bowling Tour women’s point ranking after 2 out of 13 events.

Sin (pictured right and above), who won her second career EBT title and also owns one Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour title, received 200 points for winning the “gold” level tournament, the second-highest of five EBT tournament categories (platinum, gold, silver, bronze and satellite).

Together with the 39 points in the season-opening AIK International Tournament in Stockholm, Sweden, Sin moved to the top of the leaderboard with 239 points. Her fellow countrywoman Shalin Zulkifli (left), stayed in second place with 208 points, 120 from Stockholm and 88 from Helsinki.

Bernice Lim (right) of Singapore, winner of the EBT “silver” level 38th AIK International Tournament a week ago, slipped to third place with 194 points and is followed by 2015 and 2017 point ranking winner Jenny Wegner of Sweden in fourth place with 172 points.

Lim’s fellow countrywomen Daphne Tan (left), Cherie Tan and Shayna Ng sit in 5th, 7th and 8th place with 167, 160 and 150 points, respectively.

PWBA champion and 2017 PWBA Rookie of the Year, Daria Pajak (right) of Poland is sixth with 165 points.

The third tournament of the 2018 European Bowling Tour season, the 30th Anniversary Irish Open Championships 2018, in association with Storm, a “satellite” level event, got underway Sunday, January 14, at Leisureplex Stillorgan in Dublin, Ireland, and will conclude on Sunday, January 21.

The 2018 European Bowling Tour features 13 tournaments in 10 countries including two “platinum”, two “gold”, three “silver”, three “bronze” and three “satellite” events, which will offer total prize fund of more than 560.000 Euro.

The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 8 men and top 8 women, who will be eligible to compete in the 12th EBT Masters July 8, 2019 at Bowling Chamartín in Madrid, Spain.
