Jenny Wegner of Sweden earned 250 ranking points for winning the European Bowling Tour “platinum” 15th Brunswick Euro Challenge 2018, the highest of five EBT tournament categories (platinum, gold, silver, bronze and satellite), to jump from fifth to first place in the 2018 EBT women’s ranking.

Wegner (pictured right and above), who led the Tour ranking in 2015 and 2017, became the third female winner in the 15-year- history of the Brunswick Euro Challenge (Britt Brøndsted, Denmark, and Clara Juliana Guerrero, Colombia, were the others).

Women have at least one title each season since the EBT’s inception in the year 2000 and won three out of four events this season.

Wegener leads the women’s ranking with 422 point total and is followed by seven women from Singapore and Malaysia.

Cherie Tan (left) of Singapore is 87 points behind Wegner in second place with 335 points. AIK International Tournament champion Bernice Lim of Singapore and Brunswick Ballmaster Open champion Sin Li Jane (right) of Malaysia are tied for third place with 304.

Rounding out the top 8, who will qualify for the season-ending EBT Masters, are currently Daphne Tan, Singapore (292); Siti Safiyah (left), Malaysia (277); Shayna Ng (below right), Singapore (270) and Shalin Zulkifli, Malaysia (268).

The fifth tournament of the 2018 European Bowling Tour season, the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament 2018, a “silver” level event, will run from April 15-22 at Dolfijn Bowling Tilburg in Tilburg, Netherlands.

The 2018 European Bowling Tour features 13 tournaments in 10 countries including two “platinum”, two “gold”, three “silver”, three “bronze” and three “satellite” events, which will offer total prize fund of more than 560.000 Euro.

The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 8 men and top 8 women, who will be eligible to compete in the 12th EBT Masters July 8, 2019 at Bowling Chamartín in Madrid, Spain.
