Jackie Carbonetto announced as promotions coordinator for EBI

2015PWBATourJackieCarbonetto_small.jpg Ebonite International has announced Jackie Carbonetto as Promotions Coordinator. She will start in her new position on August 15, 2016. Carbonetto's announcement comes a day after the brands of Ebonite International announced a two-year agreement with International Bowling Campus Youth Development to become the presenting sponsor of the Junior Gold Championships. Many of Carbonetto's responsibilities will revolve around the facilitation of this event. She will be reporting to Rob Gotchall, marketing manager - players, promotions and events.

EBI welcomes Tyson Branagan as district sales manager South Central region

Branagan will be starting August 1st. Branagan (pictured) comes to Ebonite International after having worked in the pro shop industry alongside Ebonite pro staffer Dino Castillo in the Dallas area since July of 2006. Mike Judy, North American Sales Manager for Ebonite International, said Branagan's experience and passion for bowling will make him a great fit for the South Central territory.

Lucky Bowl Expo attendee wins $5,000 in QubicaAMF contest

2016MatchMyMonsterContestAlainaCrabtree2_small.jpgAs a platinum sponsor of the Bowl Expo, QubicaAMF Worldwide  had a strong presence at the event with four fully functioning lanes and continued to push the envelope. For the second year, QubicaAMF hosted the Match My Monster contest in its booth. Each participant had one chance to play the five frame Mad Game, Monster Factory, in an attempt to match the monster generated from the BES X system. To win this contest, it would take both skill and little bit of luck. Fortunately for Alaina Crabtree of Murrieta, CA, she had both in Vegas and won $5,000.

Ebonite International taps Mike Snellbaker to head up Bowling Ball marketing

Snellbaker has been in the bowling business for the last 20 years and has a very diverse and consumer focused background. He has operated pro shops, worked for the PBA Tour, developed products and for the past eight years has overseen sales and marketing efforts in the Northwest as the District Sales Manager for EBI.

Hammer files for patent protection

Hammer introduced carbon fibers to their outer cores and saw immediate improvement to durability. Most recently, Hammer infused carbon fiber into the coverstock of the Scandal, Hammer's most recent high performance product. "The increase in durability afforded by carbon fiber technology allows Hammer to offer an industry leading three-year warranty," said Jim Cormier, VP Marketing.

Rich Hanson named International Sales Manager; Mike Stewart assumes role of Retail/Inside Sales, Non-ball Coordinator; EBI starts the search for a Marketing Manager Bowling Ball Category

Hanson has been in the bowling business his entire professional life, owning three pro shops in San Antonio, TX before moving to Hopkinsville, KY in 2011 to take on the role of PowerHouse Brand Manager. He continued to move up within the company and in 2014 became the Marketing Manager - Bowling Ball Category with responsibility for all four of the EBI brands.

Mary Harrar selected as new BVL Executive Director

2016BVLLogo_small.jpg Mary Harrar, a leader with almost 30 years in the bowling industry, has been chosen to take on the role of The Bowlers to Veterans Link Executive Director beginning in June. She will be replacing Elizabeth Montanya who is stepping down. Harrar will join BVL following her previous role as Executive Administrator for Thunderbird Lanes. In addition to her extensive knowledge of the bowling industry, Harrar has long been an avid BVL supporter coordinating very successful fund-raising campaigns over the years.

BBIA elects Corey Dykstra as new president

"I am truly honored to have been elected president of this historic association," said Dykstra (pictured). The new board took office immediately and will hold the position for at least one year.

Kegel releases new Kegel Logo

2016KegelLogo_small.jpg Kegel has announced today the launch of a new Kegel logo. The new logo will now have a one-color orange Phoenix with some slight changes to the fonts. Erin Wall, Kegel's Marketing Coordinator shares, "In recent months we have taken the time to evaluate our Kegel logo. While the Phoenix is an important representation of Kegel, we do feel that our logo should continue to evolve along with current trends and our growing brand." Kegel will be transitioning to use of this logo on all marketing material, shirts, product packaging, websites, etc.

Richard Petty Motorsports partners with Go Bowling

2016GoBowlingRichardPettyMotosports_small.jpgRichard Petty Motorsports announced today that Go Bowling and Strike Ten Entertainment will partner with driver Brian Scott and the No. 44 Ford Team for the Go Bowling 400 at Kansas Speedway in May. As part of the one-race primary partnership, the logo will be on the hood of the No. 44 Ford Fusion at the May 7 night race in Kansas. Go Bowling has been a partner with Richard Petty Motorsports since 2013, and has been featured on the No. 43 Ford Fusion driven by Aric Almirola.

Brunswick Bowling hires Rocky Ferman as Aftermarket Product Specialist

Ferman will call on and assist bowling centers with their pinsetter, electrical, and lane maintenance needs. Ferman has also has worked as a nuclear reactor inspector and ski lift mechanic. Ferman will continue to live in Kansas, which is centrally located in his territory, and will report to Frank Marrese, North American sales manager, aftermarket products.

Motiv responds to USBC ruling, introduces ball exchange program

Andres Gomez joins Turbo's Elite Franchise Player Staff

2015PBAAndresGomez_small.jpgThree-time PBA Tour champion Andres Gomez has signed a deal with Turbo Bowling Accessories to join their Elite Franchise Player Staff. The 42-year-old native of Colombia, will represent Turbo on both the PBA and World Bowling Tours. In addition to being a staff player, Gomez will also serve as Turbo's South and Central American Sales Manager. As owner of AG Distributing, which distributes Storm products throughout South and Central America, Gomez will now also serve as a distributor of Turbo Bowling Accessories.

Main Event Entertainment selects QubicaAMF's BES X

USBC revokes certification approval of two Motiv balls

2016MOTIVJackalCarnageandCarnage_small.jpg The United States Bowling Congress has revoked approval of two Motiv brand bowling balls and removed them from the list of balls approved for competition effective today, March 15, 2016. The revocation comes after USBC determined that the Jackal and Jackal Carnage balls do not comply with current specifications and requirements in the USBC Equipment Specifications and Certifications Manual. Customers were informed that Motiv will replace the bowling balls.

John Davis elected to Polk County Sports Hall of Fame

20130125KegelCEOJohnDavis_small.jpg Kegel founder, John Davis, has been inducted posthumously into the Polk County Sports Hall of Fame. Davis, along with his wife Linda and the late David Jennings, founded Kegel in 1981 and he dedicated his life to improving the game of bowling. Davis enters the Hall of Fame in the Contributor category for his efforts and commitment to the sport. In 1995 Davis opened the first training facility for bowling, the Kegel Training Center, which up to today brings bowlers and coaches from around the world to the Lake Wales facility.
