USBC, Kegel extend partnership through 2016

The companies recently agreed to extend their partnership to make Kegel the official lane maintenance provider for all USBC tournaments through December 2016.

John Harbuck named President of Strike Ten Entertainment


John Harbuck, who has been involved in licensing and consumer promotions for nearly three decades, has been named president of Strike Ten Entertainment (STE), the sponsor-activation arm of the bowling industry that serves industry sponsors, partners and more than 2,100 member bowling centers. Harbuck (pictured) joined STE in 2012 as vice president of activation and fulfillment and was named STE interim president on July 1. He replaced Frank DeSocio, who took over as executive director of the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA).

Global Manufacturing reaches licensing agreement with QubicaAMF Worldwide

The agreement will allow Global Manufacturing to market and sell the AMF brand of balls, bags, accessories, and Vacu-Jig Pro Shop equipment. Global Manufacturing, formally known as 900 Global LLC, has been the official licensee of AMF consumer products since 2007.

Kegel announces new partnership with SM.IT Bowling Distribution

2011KegelLogo_small.jpg Kegel has partnered with Adriano Santi to add SM.IT Bowling Distribution, as a new Kegel Distributor in Italy. Santi began in bowling in 1974 and has been a national team player since 1982. He started in the bowling business when he opened the first bowling center in San Marino called Rose n' Bowl in 2004. This center has served as the host of the EBT San Marino Open since 2004. In San Marino, Santi is involved in 17 companies with sales that exceed 50 Million Euros per year.

The Bowling Foundation announces 2014 Bowler's Ed grant recipients

The Mobile Bowling Equipment program annually helps schools, groups and other organizations teach students the lifelong sport of bowling though education, instruction, fitness and fun.

Brunswick to sell Retail Bowling Business to Bowlmor AMF

BrunswickLogo_mini.jpg Brunswick Corporation has announced on Thursday, July 17, it has agreed to sell its Retail Bowling business to Bowlmor AMF for $270 million, contingent upon customary closing procedures. Brunswick anticipates completing this transaction in approximately 90 days. In connection with its decision to sell its bowling centers, Brunswick also announced its intention to divest its Bowling Products business. Brunswick is targeting to complete that sales process by the end of 2014, during which time the company will continue to operate the business.

DeSocio has served in a leadership role with STE for 13 years and stepped down from STE as part of his transition to executive director of the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA). The STE board of directors named John Harbuck as interim president effective July 1.

Todd Britton elected Bowl Canada President

The elections took place at Bowl Canada's recent Annual Meeting in Winnipeg, Manitoba (June 4-6), where members were asked to elect six Directors. The Board of 6 begins a new era for Bowl Canada, as it has changed its Board composition to comply with the new Canada Not-For-Profit Act, which no longer allows regional representation on a national Board.

Country music fans and bowling enthusiasts will have their chance to bowl live inside AT&T U-Verse Fan Fair X at the CMA Music Festival

The Bowling Foundation announces In-School Bowling Educator of the Year


Keith Oliver, an elementary school physical education teacher at Shalimar Elementary School in Shalimar, Fla., has been selected to receive The Bowling Foundation's Bowling Educator of the Year Award. The national award is presented to the educator who has made an outstanding contribution by exposing youth to the sport through the In-School Bowling Program, a program administered through The Bowling Foundation.

Juan Cabezas joins QubicaAMF as Senior Vice President, Global Sales & International Service

MOTIV signs E.J. Tackett and Ronnie Russell to its PBA Tour staff


MOTIV Bowling has announce the signing of E.J. Tackett and Ronnie Russell to its PBA Tour staff. Earlier this year, Tackett (l.) has been selected as 2012-13 Harry Golden PBA Rookie of the Year and, while not having yet won a PBA title, he already has six top 10 finishes on the PBA tour. Russell (r.) won his first PBA title during the 2012-2013 season in the 2014 Brunswick Euro Challenge in Munich, Germany, and is hungry for more.

Queensbury, New York couple, Shawn and Tammy Morehouse, are headed to the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas this weekend, courtesy of Ebonite and the Folds of Honor Foundation. Shawn won the trip through a joint contest between the two partners. The Chrismans are known in the bowling industry for their generosity and efforts to grow the sport of bowling. They can frequently be seen on nearly all televised bowling events supporting the sport's premier athletes.
