20110617DaleCoyneGoBowling_small.jpgFlying around the famed Milwaukee Mile with branding on his vehicle, race car driver Alex Lloyd finished 22nd in the Milwaukee 225 IZOD Indy Car Series last Sunday. The partnership between the bowling industry and Lloyd's Dale Coyne Racing Racing team was announced earlier in the week by Strike Ten Entertainment. It marked a return to the bowling-Indy Car tie-in first developed in the mid-1990s between the American Bowling Congress and the late Stan Fox.

Purdue University Bowling Camp partners with Storm Bowling

Program to host fifth annual Player Development Youth Camp July 28-31, 2011.

This year's camp will be held July 28-31, 2011 and is open to boys and girls ages 12-20. The partnership will allow campers to purchase a high performance Storm bowling ball at a substantial discount. The summer bowling camp is taught by Purdue Head Coach Scott Savage and Assistant Coach Doug Wiedman, as well as former and current Purdue bowlers.

I drove to Miyagi prefecture to visit a bowler that was the house pro of Sakura Bowl in Kesennuma city. Three days after the earthquake, he was able to get out of town, but since his bowling center and house were both damaged beyond repair, he went back to his home town in Okinawa to be with his family. Last week, he came back to assess the damage and retrieve anything he could from his center and apartment,....

Moyer leads Ebonite International's bowling center product and sales efforts, bag business

EboniteBCDPeteMoyer2_small.jpgPete Moyer (pictured), formerly Business Development Manager for Blitz USA, has joined Ebonite International as Director of Ebonite Bowling Center Direct, announced Randy Schickert, Chief Executive Officer of Ebonite International. In his new role, Moyer will oversee the development, sales and marketing of products specifically for bowling centers. He will also direct the bowling bag product development and business for each of Ebonite International's ball brands: Ebonite, Hammer, Columbia 300 and Track.



Kegel named Official Lane Maintenance Provider of WTBA World Championship events

2011KegelLogo_small.jpgKegel partners with the World Tenpin Bowling Association to provide lane maintenance for all WTBA World Championship tournaments through 2014. Since 1995, the WTBA World Championships have been using Kegel equipment, chemicals, and technical staff during their events. Chris Chartrand, Kegel President, and Kevin Dornberger, WTBA President, have now joined together to extend their partnership for an additional three years.

Hardie (pictured), president – Brunswick Bowling & Billiards, has decided to retire May 1, 2011. Hardie has served in his present capacity since February 2006. He joined Brunswick in 1997 as senior vice president – Brunswick Indoor Recreation Group, and in 1998 was named as president – Bowling Retail, where he was responsible for the management and performance of more than 100 Brunswick-owned and operated bowling centers around the world.

BVL Party was a 300 for Walter Reed bowlers

This first party was for a group of service men and women who travelled the short distance from Walter Reed Army Medical Center to enjoy an afternoon of camaraderie and competition on the lanes. Founded in 1942, the Bowlers to Veterans Link is guided by representatives of theUSBC and BPAA.

Thursday evening, the Astrobowl B bowling center was formally inaugurated at the north wing of Starmall in Alabang. Strangely enough, Astrobowl has already long been in the mall with a similar facility in the south wing. The new 26-lane facility illustrates how big the market for bowling is, particularly in the southern part of Metro Manila and its environs.

"We had no doubt this ball would prove itself in a big way this season," said Ed Gallagher, Ebonite brand manager. "In honor of Mika's historic prize, the Mission Domination will now be called Mission $250k."
