A record week at the 2015 Junior Gold Championships concluded as champions were crowned in the U20 (L-R U20 champions Zachary Doty and Sierra Kanemoto), U15 and U12 divisions at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill., on Friday. A record-shattering field of more than 3,100 bowlers will descend upon DuPage County, Illinois, next week as the Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and Master takes hold on the suburban Chicago area. The top youth bowlers in the country will compete for national titles, spots on Junior Team USA and $275,000 in scholarship money. Junior Gold begins with the first round of qualifying Monday and concludes with the July 17 finals.
More than 3,400 youth bowlers have qualified for the 2015 Junior Gold Championships
The Junior Gold program has shattered its all-time membership mark with more than 6,200 members having joined the program for the 2014-2015 season. The 2015 Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and Master also will eclipse last year's record for number of participants. More than 3,400 youth bowlers have qualified for the tournament, which will take place July 11-17 in DuPage County, Illinois, (Chicago area).
The Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and Master, is the pinnacle event for top youth bowlers and this summer the title matches of the annual tournament will be nationally televised on a major cable sports network. An agreement is in place to televise the boys and girls championships matches of the Under 12, Under 15 and Under 20 divisions. The 2015 Junior Gold Championships will be held in the Chicago area from July 13-17.
Storm Products Inc. and International Bowling Campus Youth Development have agreed on a sponsorship deal that will make Storm, Roto Grip and Master the presenting sponsors of the Junior Gold Championships. The Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and Master is a two-year agreement that will cover the 2015 event in Chicago and the 2016 tournament in Cleveland.
