Osku Palermaa, Nicki Ainge win 2009 Men's and Women's European Bowling Tour Rankings

Top 16 qualify for EBT Masters in Vienna, Austria (May 3-4, 2010)

Finn Osku Palermaa (l.) and Nicki Ainge (r.) from England finished atop the men's and women's EBT rankings. It marked the third consecutive year that the two-hander from Finland captured the men's ranking title, while Ainge led the women for the very first time in her career.The top 16 qualified for the 2010 EBT Masters tin Vienna, Austria, May 3-4. There will be no World Ranking Master in 2010.

Osku Palermaa wins his third consecutive European Bowling Tour Men's Ranking title

 In its 10th season since its inception in the year 2000, the European Bowling Tour 2009 consisted of 15 tournaments, 11 "Majors", and 4 "Challengers". The Tour visited 12 countries, Austria, Denmark, England, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Qatar, San Marino and Slovenia (once each) as well as Finland, Spain and Turkey (twice each). The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each tournament received ranking points (Challengers 50-1; Majors; 100-2). The top 16 players qualify for the EBT Masters in Vienna, Austria, May 3-4, 2010

Nicki Ainge wins 2009 European Bowling Tour Women's Rankings

Nicki Ainge overtakes lead in 2009 EBT Women's Ranking

Paul Moor moves into third place in the Men's Ranking

2009VONickiAinge2_small.jpg2009EBT08PaulMoor2_small.jpgWith a second-place finish among 36 women in the Ebonite International Luxembourg Open, 23rd overall, Nicki Ainge (l.) overtook the lead in the 2009 European Bowling Tour women's ranking. with 431 ranking points. 3-time EBT ranking champion and 2009 EBT Masters winner Paul Moor (r.), both England, continued his rise to the top and is now in third position trailing leader Osku Palermaa, Finland, and compatriot Dominic Barrett by 89 and 33 points, resp.

No changes among the top 10 in the men's and women's rankings after Lahti

2009VONinaFlack_small.jpg2008WTMOskuPalermaa_small.jpgAfter the conclusion of the Ebonite Lahti Open, the 12rh of 15 stops of the 2009 European Bowling Tour, the top 10 in the EBT men's and women's rankings remained unchanged. Both defending ranking champions, Osku Palermaa (left), Finland on the men's side and Nina Flack (right), Sweden, on the women's side held on to the lead with 426 and 400 ranking points, respectively. The EBT Tour will continued this week with the Ebonite International Luxembourg Open.

Eklund, Ainge move closer to the top

2009VONickiAinge2_small.jpg2009VODennisEklund4_small.jpgDennis Eklund (left) from Sweden, and Nicki Ainge (right), England, narrowed the gap to European Ranking leaders Osku Palermaa, Finland, and Nina Flack, Sweden, to 67 and 34, after finishing 6th and 5th in the men's and women's rankings of the 7th Columbia 300 Vienna Open. Eklund (337) moved from fifth to third place with Palermaa (404) in first and Dominic Barrett (354), England, in second place. Ainge (356) leaped from fourth to second place.

Defending champions widen their lead in 2009 European Bowling Tour rankings

Palermaa leads the men's division by 50 ranking points while Flack has a 22-point cushion in the women's division. The EBT Tour takes a two-week break before heading to Austria's capitol city for the 7th Columbia 300 Vienna Open.

No changes atop the leaderboard in EBT rankings after Barcelona

There were no changes among the top 10 men and women in the rankings though some players changed positions. The EBT takes a seven-week break before heading to the Ankara Open (Sept. 5-13, 2009).

2008 European Ranking champions Flack, Palermaa atop the leaderboard after San Marino

The 9th Stop of the 2009 European Bowling Tour, the 31st Trofeu Internacional Ciutat de Barcelona will start on Tuesday July 14 and runs through Sunday July 19 at Bowling Pedralbes in Barcelona, Spain.

Palermaa leads EBT Men's Ranking after Aalborg

Earns EBT exemption for PBA World Series of Bowling

As the EBT has decided to give the exemption to the highest ranked player in the men's division after seven stops, Osku Palermaa (l.), from Finland, current leader, and two-time defending ranking champion, earns the exemption. Mai Ginge Jensen (r.), Denmark, was the second-best women in Aalborg and was awarded 80 ranking points en route to become the new leader with 250 points.

No changes atop the men's and women's leaderboard in Ljubljana

Dennis Eklund (left), Sweden, and Jesper Agerbo (right), Denmark, moved into third and fourth place in the men's ranking with 181 and 179 points, respectively. With 6 out of 16 tournaments in the books, Osku Palermaa from Finland, and Patricia Luoto, Germany, lead the men's and women's rankings with 262 and 212 points, respectively.

Palermaa, Luoto lead EBT Rankings after five events

All five events were EBT "Majors" and offered between 100 and 2 ranking points for the top 50 men and the top 50 women. The EBT Tour takes a short break before heading to Slovenia for the 3rd Qubica/AMF Open 2009 at Bowling Center Gladiator in Ljubljana from April 14-19, 2009.

Ginge, Luoto move to the top of the EBT Women's Ranking in Paris

Palermaa regains lead in Men's Rankings

Two-time defending ranking champion Osku Palermaa, Finland, regained the lead in the men's ranking. The top 16 men and the top 16 women at the end of the 2009 EBT season will qualify for the EBT Masters to be held in Vienna, Austria, from May 3-4, 20010. The EBT Tour takes a two-week break before heading to Turkey for the EBT "Major" 6th Istanbul Bowling Open at Timeout Bowling Center in Istanbul from March 30 - April 5, 2009.

Barrett overtakes Palermaa to lead men's European Ranking

Pöllänen mere two points behind Sanders in women's ranking

2008WYCDominicBarrett_small.jpg 2008EBT15KristaPollanen_small.jpg Though Dominic Barrett (l.), England, lost his second title match of the 2009 European Bowling Tour season in the VII Catalonia Open in Barcelona, the 2-time World Youth champion overtook the lead in the men's ranking. Barrett has 210 points, 10 more than two-time defending ranking champion Osku Palermaa, Finland, who slipped to second with 200. Krista Pöllänen (r.), Finland, used a third-place finish in the women's ranking in Barcelona to narrow the gap to women's ranking leader Nicole Sanders, Netherlands, to two points, 142 to 140.

Palermaa won the EBT Major and 100 points to overtake the lead with 150 points. Dutch Nicole Sanders (r.) held on to the lead in the women's division with 142 points.

Uotila and Sanders take the early lead in 2009 European Rankings

For the third time in his career Pasi Uotila (l.), Finland, started the European Bowling Tour season atop the men's ranking when he won his third Ballmaster title Sunday with a 214-212 victory over Dominic Barrett from England. Nicole Sanders (r.), Netherlands, was the sole woman, who made the cut to the top 16 for the match play finals in Helsinki, and positioned herself atop the women's ranking.
