Thomas Gross defeats Paul Moor to win BNC Bratislava Open

Mortensen, Backe achieve perfection in Final Round 3; Dulce Fernandez wins Women Ranking

In the championship match over two games total pinfall, Gross held a comfortable 45-pin lead after the first game (248- 203) and cruised to victory with a 214-193 in game #2 and 462-396 overall. Gross received 5.000 Euro  for his fourth career European Bowling Tour title. Moor pocketed 3.000 Euro for second place.

The Danish national team member had a high series of 1434 , an average of 239.00 for six games. Gianny Hendrickx (r.), Belgium, fired a huge 267 game to easily win the Desperado squad which offered the last four spots for the finals on Sunday.

Qualifying continues through Saturday and will end with the one-game Desperado Squad scheduled for 0.30 a.m. CET on Sunday morning. A total of 64 players will advance to the finals on Sunday:

With 12 out of 24 squads in the books, Hahn leads the field of 169 players¬† from 14 countries with 1404 six-game total (234 ave.) For the third and last day the top 4 daily leaders earned automatic berths into the finals on Sunday. Joining Hahn in the finals are JiŇô√≠ Hindr√°k of the Czech Republic, Slovenia's Darko Tiselj, and Artur Levikin, Lithuania.

R√≥bert Z√°hora (l.), Slovakia, set the pace after the first day with 1304 six-game total and an average of 217.33. Michal VceliŇ°, Czech Republic, was second with 1298, followed by Squad 1 leader Ladislav Bitto, Slovakia, in third with 1284 and Squad 4 leader Diego Biolghini, Italy, in fourth with 1266. The top 4 players are automatically qualified for the finals on Sunday.

It was the 10th career EBT title for the 4-time European Bowling Tour ranking champion (2000-'03) and the first since 2008. BT Ranking leader Nina Flack, Sweden, finished in 6th place to win the women's rankings.

The 30-year-old right-hander posted a 1474 six-game series in the fifth of 15 qualifying squads to lead a total of 48 players from the 155-player field from 20 countries into Sunday's finals. Joline Persson-Planefors (r.), Sweden, led final Squad 15 with 1398 and is one of 12 women among the finalists.

Chris Loschetter wins his first EBT title in 6th Storm San Marino Open

2010EBT11ChrisLoschetter_small.jpgPBA exempt player Chris Loschetter (l.), United States, had three top 10 finishes in the 2009-10 PBA Tour season but is still looking for his first PBA title. On Sunday, July 11th, Loschetter won his first title on the European Bowling Tour when he defeated Osku Palermaa, Finland, 412-358, to win the 6th Storm San Marino Open at Rose'n Bowl in Serravalle. Loschetter pocketed 10.000 while Palermaa received 6.000. In the semis, Loschetter eliminated top seeded Gery Verbruggen, Belgium, and Palermaa ousted compatriot Mika Koivuniemi, who each earned 3.400 Euro.

Shoots 1467 series to earn 1.000 Euro bonus

The lefty beat out previous leader Dennis Eklund, Sweden (1462), for the top spot by five pins. Verbruggen leads a field of 48 players including five women into the finals on Sunday at Rose'n Bowl in Serravalle, San Marino. The winner will walk away with 10.000 Euro.

The trio has positioned themselves atop the leaderboard in the 6th Storm San Marino Open on Thursday'. Two-hander Palermaa (left) had games of 238, 214, 279, 206, 269 and 247 in Squad 14 to take the lead in the 206-player field 180 men and 26 women - from 16 countries with 1453 six-game total and an average of 242.17.

Maaswinkel had games of 207, 211, 223, 256, 190 and 233 for 1320 pinfall total, an average of 220 per game, and added 48 pins handicap to lead Squad 9 with 1368. Dietmar Krämer (right), Germany, remained in the lead with 1396 and an average of 232.67. Qualifying continues on Thursday with Squads 12-14.

Krämer had games of 253, 227, 194, 209, 235 and 278 to overtake previous leader Tommaso Radi (r.), Italy, by 47 pins. Radi slipped to second place with 1349. The top three players after the weekend, Tommaso Radi, Marco Padovani, both Italy, and Yoan Alix, France, are automatically qualified for the finals on Sunday, July 11th. Radi (l.) had a 1349 six-game total and an average of 224.83. Padovani (r.) was second with 1312 and Alix third with 1297. Qualifying continues Monday with squads 5 and 6.
