2014 International Seniors Bowling Tour - Schedule & Champions

ISBTLogo_small.jpg The 2014 International Seniors Bowling Tour featured 10 tournaments in five countries, three each in Belgium, France and Germany and one each in Italy and the Netherlands. Men and women age 50 and over bowled in separate divisions. Age bonus starts at age 51 (1 pin per game), then increases a pin for every additional year of age with no limit. The 2013 ISBT Masters Finals were held in conjunction with the Dutch Senior Open at Chandra Bowling in Nieuwegein Netherlands.

Angie Brown, Carlo Greulich win their third ISBT title this season in Böblingen Senior Open

2014ISBT09CarloGreulichAngieBrown_small.jpgAngie Brown (r.) of England and Germany's Carlo Greulich (l.) celebrated their third victory on the 2014 International Seniors Bowling Tour when captured the women's and men's title in the 3rd Böblingen Senior Open Sunday, September 7, at Dream Bowl in Böblingen, Germany. In an all-German men's finale, Greulich topped Hermann Wimmer, 233-222. Two late unconverted splits for Martina Beckel, Germany, and a run of four strikes allowed Brown to gain victory, 209-184.

50+ Euro Bowling Open 2014

Liliane Vintens, Ron Oldfield win second ISBT title this season in 50+ Euro Bowling Open

2014ISBT08LilianeVintensRonOldfield_small.jpg Liliane Vintens of Belgium (l.) and England's Ron Oldfield (r.) captured their second International Seniors Bowling Tour (ISBT) title this season in the 50+ Euro Bowling Open Sunday, August 17, at Euro Bowling in Deurne, Antwerp, Belgium. The eighth stop on the 2014 ISBT tour was scheduled to be in Brussels, but the tournament was unexpected cancelled by the organiser just four weeks before it was due to start. Euro Bowling to host the tournament and 71 men and 20 women still took part.

Yvette Murrath (r.) of France and Germany's Carlo Greulich (l.) wrapped up the 2013 season of the International Seniors Bowling Tour with victory in the women's and men's ISBT Masters Finals August 4 at Chandra Bowling in Nieuwegein, Netherland. Every year, the top competitors from the ISBT series of tournaments are invited to participate in the Masters Final. There is no entry fee to participate and the prize fund is generated from the tournaments run during the year.

The seventh stop on the 2014 ISBT tour was at a new location for 2014, the 16-lane Chandra Bowling. The tournament attracted 180 bowlers, 132 men and 48 women, boosted by the 66 Dutch bowlers.

England's Angie Brown, Ron Oldfield sweep the titles in 2014 Flanders Senior Open

Brown becomes the first player, men and women, to win multiple titles in the 2014 season; Brown (10 titles) and Oldfield (8 titles) are the all-time ISBT title leaders

It was Brown's 10th title and Oldfield's 8th, both records on the International Seniors Bowling Tour. Brown, who won the women's title at the 1st Senior Open at Dream-Bowl Palace in Munich, Germany, earlier this month, become the first player, men and women, to win multiple titles on the 2014 Tour.

Angie Brown, Olle Svensson capture the titles in 1st Senior Open - Dream-Bowl Palace 2014

It was the first win for Brown and Svensson on the 2014 International Seniors Bowling Tour, marking the series' fifth different winners in as many events. The fifth stop on the 2014 ISBT was staged at 52-lane Dream-Bowl Palace, the biggest bowling center in Europe.

Carlo Greulich, Brigitte Fievet emerge as champions in Alsace Senior Open

Greulich averaged 255.57 over his seven games in the men's finals to beat out Patrick Rolland, France, for the top place by just 15 pins. Fievet finished the women's finals with 259 and 237, which left her with a 74 pin lead over Liliane Vintens, Belgium.

Geelen averaged over 246 in round robin match play to capture the men's title, more than 100 pins ahead of Ed Roberts (USA) and Ernst Berndt (AUT). Vintens finished with a huge 268 game to beat out Alessandra Morra (ITA) and Angie Brown (ENG) for the women's top spot by 24 and 34 pins, resp.

André Geelen, Jacqueline Boissiere conclude 2013 season with victory in French Senior Open

Due to the cancellation of the ISBT stop in England, the 2013 season ended in France. The next event will be the first from the 2014 calendar, the Plaza Senior Open, which will be held January 23-26 in Reims, France.

Marianne Pelz of Germany and Belgium's Chris Vandamme (center, l-r) claimed the women's and men's title in the Belgium Senior Open. The ninth stop on the 2013 International Seniors Bowling Tour (ISBT) was held at Bowlmaster Club in Brussels, Belgium Aug. 28-Sept. 1. The Belgium Senior Open is a long standing European Seniors event, and this year it attracted 75 men and 24 women from twelve countries. The last stop of the 2013 ISBT is the French Senior Open from Sept. 25-29.

Beckel wrapped up the women's title in the final game, while Greulich finished round robin match play with games of 300, 259 and 255 to cruise to the men's title.

While Danielsson flew past compatriot Olle Svensson in the men's title match, 254-218, Morra was declared the winner by higher scratch total after a 203-203 tie against Gisela Insinger, Germany.

Martina Beckel, Dan Stricker win hands down in Hansabowl Senior Challenge

Stricker averaged 245.54 over 17 games in the finals, while Beckel averaged 212.14 in the seven-game women's finale to finish the clear winners. The fourth stop of the 2013 International Seniors Bowling Tour drew 66 players from 13 countries.

The men's final over four games proved to be a runaway victory for Berndt, who finished over 50 pins ahead of Ron Oldfield, England, with Peter Knopp, Germany, in third place. In the all-German women's final, Karnasch put in four solid games to take the win followed by Rosemarie Greve and Martina Beckel.

The first stop on the 2013 International Seniors Bowling Tour was held Jan. 23-27 at Plaza Bowling in Reims, France, which last year also hosted the ISBT Masters. For the 2012 season, the Masters will be held during the Italian Senior Open in Bologna in early June. Plaza Senior Open 2013 attracted 69 men and 21 women from 12 countries.

Ron Deacon, Angie Brown end 2012 ISBT season with victory in Yorkshire Senior Open

2012ISBT10AngieBrownRonDeacon_small.jpg Angie Brown and Ron Deacon (pictured l-r) ended the 2012 International Seniors Bowling Tour by winning the women's and men's title at the Yorkshire Senior Open in Leeds, England. It was the fourth title of the season for Brown and the first for Deacon. Belgium's Liliane Vintens and Roger Pieters finished second while Jan Steiner and Neville Robinson of England took third place. The tenth and final stop on the 2012 ISBT marked the first visit of the tour to Yorkshire.
