Jouni Helminen charges into big lead on day two qualifying in Brunswick Euro Challenge

2011EBT04JouniHelminen_small.jpg2011EBT04OlivierBraine_small.jpgJouni Helminen (l.) got off to a great start into the 2011 Brunswick Euro Challenge Saturday at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin, France when the Finn knocked down 1435 pins to take a 163-pin lead after four qualifying squads. Helminen outaveraged his nearest competitor, second place Olivier Braine (r.) of Belgium, by more than 27 pins per game. Qualifying continues on Sunday, March 6 with Squad 5-7.

2011 Brunswick Euro Challenge is underway at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin, France

Dutch Ron van den Bogaard leads first of 25 qualifying squads

2011EBT04RonvandenBogaard_small.jpgThe 2011 Brunswick Euro Challenge got underway Friday evening at Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin near Paris, France. Dutch bowlers dominated the opening squad. Long-time Ron van den Bogaard (pictured) set the pace with 1226 and was followed by Louis Hendriks in second with 1222, Michell Stinissen in third with 1204 and Wendy Kok in fourth with 1182. The BEC is the fourth tournament on the 2011 European Bowling Tour schedule and one of just two "Platinum" events, the EBT's highest category.

The BEC, which will be held from March 4-13, 2011 at 28-laner Le Plaza Bowling in Saint Maximin near Paris, France, offers total prize money of 106.000 Euro or approx. US $143,000. Bowlingdigital.com will cover the event live commencing Tuesday March 8 all the way through to the finals on Sunday, March 13.

EBT Platinum tournament offers total prize fund of 106.000 Euro

The tournament has been granted "Platinum" status for the 2011 European Bowling Tour and offers total prize fund of 106.000 Euro with 15.000 Euro going to the winner. The online registration for the 2011 Brunswick Euro Challenge will open its doors on November 1st on the completely redesigned BEC website.

Brunswick Euro Challenge receives EBT Platinum status in 2011

Tournament features 106.000 Euro prize fund, round robin and 3-player stepladder final

2010EBT05BECLogo_small.jpgThe 2011 Brunswick Euro Challenge has been granted "Platinum" status for the 2011 European Bowling Tour by the European Tenpin Bowling Federation (ETBF). The total prize fund will increase by 16.000 Euro to a total prize fund of 106.000 Euro. The organizers have also changed the format of the finals. The 2011 Brunswick Euro Challenge will be held from March 4th through 13th at Le Plaza Bowling in St. Maxim at the outskirts of Paris, France. The 2011 EBT consists of 22 tournaments.
