Roto Grip Polish Open got a whole new look as nine bowlers of squads 12-14 moved into the top 10 Friday at Sky Bowling in Wroclaw, Poland.
Richard Teece (pictured) of England posted games of 279, 205, 213, 238, 268 and 266 in Squad 12 to shoot into the lead with 1469 total and an average of 244.83. Teece, who overtook previous leader
Mari Lukkari of Finland (1364) by 105 pins, leads the 85-player field from 15 countries into the last qualifying day.
Long-time Venezuelan national team members Ildemaro Ruiz Jr. and Karen Marcano led qualifying squads 11 & 12 Tuesday at Bowling ChamartĂn in Madrid, Spain, en route to take over the qualifying lead in the III Brunswick Madrid Challenge. Ruiz (l.), who bowls regularly on the PBA Tour, lead the 89 players from eight countries with 1487 pinfall total and an average of 247.83. Marcano (r.), who posted 1419 in Squad 11, sits in second place.
Tanner Spacey of the United States, Spain's Ruben Orche, and Noe Gamazo of Venezuela led Squads 9 & 10 Monday at Bowling ChamartĂn in Madrid, Spain, to position themselves in the top 10 in the qualifying of the III Brunswick Madrid Challenge. Spacey (l.) averaged 225.50 to lead Squad 9 with 1335 total and to leap into third place in the overall standings. Orche (r.) toppled 1332 pins in the next squad to jump into fourth place.
Carsten Warming Hansen (center) of Denmark defeated Daniel Fransson (l.) of Sweden, 213-205, to win his first European Bowling Tour title in the inaugural Roto Grip Polish Open Sunday evening at Sky Bowling in Wroclaw, Poland. Hansen earned the 6.000 Euro top prize for the victory in the EBT "Satellite" event. Fransson took home 4.000 Euro for his third career runner-up finish in an EBT event and Richard Teece (r.) of England got 2.500 Euro for third place.
Despite a slow start, Cajsa Wegner (l.) of Sweden led Squad 5 (squads 6, 7 and 8 have been canceled) with 1347 total Sunday at Bowling ChamartĂn in Madrid, Spain, to overtake the lead in the III Brunswick Madrid Challenge. Wegner rebounded from a 160 game with 217, 237, 238, 224 and 223 for 1299 scratch, an average of 216.50, and added 48 pins women's handicap to beat out Pablo Barriopedro (r.) of Spain for the top spot by four pins.
Patricia Ciotti (l.) of Italy averaged 202.50 in the first squad of the 3rd Brunswick Madrid Challenge to take the first pole position in the European Bowling Tour "Silver" tournament with 1263 total including women's handicap. The native Venezuelan paced the field of 36 players after the first day of qualifying (squads 2-4 have been canceled). Pablo Barriopedro (r.) of Spain was second with 1261 and the field-best 210.67 average.

Rodolfo Madriz (l.) of Costa Rica and Mexico's Carlos Lee (r.) rolled six-game series of 1254 and 1251 Wednesday at Sky Bowling in Wroclaw, Poland, to move to the top of the leaderboard in the Roto Grip Polish Open. Madriz started Squad 5 with back-to-back 222 games and added 202 and 224 before he close out with two consecutive 192 games to lead the 37-player field from seven countries with an average of 209.
The inaugural Roto Grip Polish Open kicked off Monday as 13 Polish bowlers hit the lanes at Sky Bowling in Wroclaw for the first two of 18 qualifying squads. Przemysław Nowak (l.) led both squads to take the early lead in qualifying with 1222 six-game total and an average of 203.67. He received a bowling ball for accomplishing the feat. Lucy Charezinska (r.) averaged 191.83 scratch and added 48 pins women's handicap to take second place with 1199.
The Roto Grip Polish Open, a newcomer on the European Bowling Tour, is the ninth stop of the 2015 season and the fifth out of eight EBT "Satellite" tournaments this season. The tournament will be held from June 22-28 at 24-lane Sky Bowling in Wroclaw, Poland, host of the 2012 and 2014 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Players will compete for total prize money of 30.000 Euro with 6.000 Euro going to the winner, 4.000 to the runner-up and 2.500 to the third place finisher. Last-to-cash payout (40th place) is 250 Euro.
The match play finals in the Odense International went into overtime when the two undefeated players, Jeroen van Geel of Netherlands and Kamilla Kjeldsen of Denmark tied in the title match at 202. In the one-ball roll-off Van Geel (pictured) struck while Kjeldsen left two pins standing to cruise to his first career EBT title and to earn the 4.000 Euro top prize. Kjeldsen, who was looking to become the first multiple EBT champion this season, had to settle for second place worth 2.500 Euro.
Sweden's Pontus Andersson (pictured) remained atop the leaderboard in the qualifying of the Odense International to lead 36 players, 29 men and seven women, into the finals starting Sunday, Mai 31, at 8 a.m. CEST at Odense Bowling Center in Odense, Denmark. Andersson posted a 1455 series in Squad 5 of 16, an average of 242.50 for six games, including back-to-back 299 games. As the qualifying leader Andersson will take a 140-pin bonus into the first round. He will be looking to win his first career European Bowling Tour title.
Christoffer Jakobsson (pictured) averaged 234.17 Friday afternoon at Odense Bowling Center in Odense, Denmark, to move into third place in the overall qualifying standings in the Odense International. The Swede had a slow start in Squad 11 but rebounded from a 184 game with 259, 235, 214, 276 and 237 for 1405. His compatriot Pontus Andersson leads the 90-player field from England, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the host country Denmark into the final qualifying day with 1455 or an average of 242.50.

Tournament leader Josh Blanchard (l.), United States, defeated Sin Li Jane (r.) of Malaysia in the championship match of the 12th Brunswick Euro Challenge, 248-211, to win his first World Bowling Tour title and first career PBA title and the 12.000 Euro top prize Sunday at Dream-Bowl Palace in Munich, Germany. Sin Li got 9.000 Euro for second place and Jesper Svensson, Sweden, took home 6.000 Euro for third place.
Josh Blanchard (pictured) of the United States won the qualifying of the 12th Brunswick Euro Challenge, which concluded Saturday night with Squad 17 and the ultimate Desperado Squad at Dream-Bowl Palace in Munich, Germany. Blanchard was the lone player who surpassed the magic 1500-mark (250 average) after finishing the penultimate Squad 16 with 1506 six-game total and an average of 251. Squad 17 and 15 leaders Joonas Jehkinen (1471), Finland, and Richard Teece (1459), England, cracked the top 12.
