Martin Larsen sweeps Tore Torgersen to win the Masters at Men's European Championships

Mik Stampe (DEN) and Markus Jansson (SWE) share the bronze medal

2015MECMastersTop4_small.jpgIn the title match between two of the most decorated European bowlers, Martin Larsen of Sweden swept Norway's Tore Torgersen, 2-0, to win the gold medal in Masters at the 2015 Men's European Championships. Larsen rolled two solid games of 212 and 215, while Torgersen, who averaged almost 220 in the first four rounds, managed only 164 and 171 to settle for the silver medal. Markus Jansson, Sweden, and Mik Stampe, Denmark, shared the bronze medal.

Finland defeats England by a whisker to win Team gold at Men's European Championships

Denmark and Sweden share the bronze medal; Denmark's Frederik Øhrgaard beats out Finns Osku Palermaa and Kimmo Lehtonen for the gold medal in All-Events

2015MECTeamFinland2_small.jpgFinland (pictured left) defeated England by the closest possible margin, 1100 to 1099, to win the title in the coveted five-player team event in the Men's European Championships Friday evening at Lovvang Bowling Center in Aalborg, Denmark. Denmark and Sweden shared the bronze medal. Frederik Øhrgaard of Denmark averaged 223 on his way to the gold medal in All-Events. Finland's Olli Pakonen rolled the first 300 game game of the Championships.

Finland defeats Sweden to win the gold medal in Trios at Europeans Championships

Israel and Germany share the bronze medal; Dane Frederik Øhrgaard continues to lead in All-Events after 18 of 24 games

The Finns topped Germany in a high-scoring semifinal match, 698-694, and the Swedes prevailed by five pins against Israel, 642-637. Sweden earned silver while Germany and Israel shared bronze.

Frederik Øhrgaard, Jesper Agerbo win second gold medal for Denmark in Doubles

Top-seeded Danes defeat Georgios Stefanidis, Vasileios Stefopoulos of Greece in the gold medal match, 442-416; Øhrgaard averages 228 to lead in All-Events after 12 of 24 games

The Greek earned silver, while Markus Jansson and Magnus Johnson Jr. of Sweden and Germany's Marco Baade and Tobias Börding, who had to bowl a roll-off prior to their semifinal defeat, shared bronze.

Denmark's Thomas Larsen captures Singles gold at 2015 Men's European Championships

Defeats Romain Franchi (FRA) 209-192 in the title match; top-seeded Ramon Hilferink (NED) and Adam Cairns (ENG) share the bronze medal

2015MECThomasLarsen2_small.jpgLocal favorite Thomas Larsen (pictured) of Denmark captured the first gold medal of the 2015 Men's European Championships when he defeated Romain Franchi of France, 209-192, in the title match of the Singles event Saturday evening. In a high-scoring semifinal match, top-seeded Ramon Hilferink, Netherlands, fell to Franchi, 241-231, while Larsen took down Adam Cairns, England, in a similar close match, 227-218. Cairns earned the silver medal and Hilferink and Cairns both received bronze.

6th Men's European Championships starts Friday with Singles preliminaries

185 players from 32 countries compete from June 5-13 for medals in Singles, Doubles, Trios, Team, All Events and Masters at Lovvang Bowling Center in Aalborg, Denmark

2015MECLogo_small.jpg The 6th Men's European Championships will be held from June 3-14, 2015, in Aalborg, Denmark. 185 players from 32 countries will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, Trios, Team, All-Events and Masters. Real action begins on June 5 with the two-day Singles preliminaries with the first champion to be crowned on June 6. The Doubles event will be held June 7 & 8, the Trios event takes place June 9 & 10 and is followed by the Team event June 11 & 12.

Israel announces team for Men's European Championships 2015 in Aalborg, Denmark

2015MECTeamIsraelselected_small.jpgThe Israel Bowling Federation has announced the six players who will represent Israel in the 2015 Men's European Championships, which will be held from June 3-14 at Lovvang Bowling Center in Aalborg, Denmark. The qualifying tournament at Hutzot bowling center in Haifa featured a 38-game format over six days on medium, long and dual lane condition. The top four qualifiers plus the top two players of the Israeli National Ranking made the team for Denmark (pictured).
