Federico Rossi won two matches in the stepladder finals of the Catalonia Open at Planet Bowling in Gava, Spain, en route to win the title and the 10.000 Euro top prize. The Italian, seeded second for the three-player shootout, topped Helen Johnsson, Sweden, in the semifinal match, 220-182, then defeated top seeded Nikolay Ovchinnikovs, Latvia, in the title match, 225-182. Gery Verbruggen, who led the tournament since the qualifying, slipped out of the top three in a span of four games in the semifinals to finish fourth.
Peter Ljung (left) flew past Stuart Williams (right), England, 246-158, to win the Husqvarna International by Ebonite on Easters Sunday at Bowling Arena in Jönköping, Sweden. The Swede, who sidelined PBA star Mika Koivuniemi, Finland, in the semifinals, 235-223, pocketed the 10.000 Euro top prize. 
In a championship match between two players who use both hands to swing and bowl the bowling ball, Jason Belmonte of Australia defeated Osku Palermaa, Finland, 256-222, en route to win the Brunswick Euro Challenge at Strike Bowling Club in Thessalonica, Greece, and the 15.000 Euro first-place check. It was the first career title on the European Bowling Tour for the 2004 World Bowling Writers International Player of the Year.
Stuart Williams of England defeated Osku Palermaa, Finland, 444-415, over two games total pinfall to win the Ebonite International Luxembourg Open and the 5.000 Euro top prize. Palermaa finished second as he did in Tilburg last week, worth 3.500 Euro. Williams shot the sole 300-game of the tournament in Round Robin en route to grab the No. 1 seed for the stepladder finals.
Achim Grabowski rolled games of 247 and 218 to claim his first career European Bowling Tour title and 5.000 Euro in the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament at bowling alley Tilburg in Tilburg, Netherlands. The multiple German Champion was able to weather a strong charge by qualifying leader Osku Palermaa of Finland (240-217), who finished second with 457 pinfall total. Third place went to Bart van Kerckhoven, Netherlands, who overtook Christian Racpan, Germany, in the second game. 
Svein Roger Olsen of Norway and Laura Rhoney, Scotland, came from behind to win the men's and women's titles in the Irish Open Championships Leisureplex Stillorgan in Dublin, Ireland. Olsen, seeded fourth, won three consecutive matches including a 265-216 victory in the title match against defending champion Paul Moor. Rhoney defeated No. 1 seeded Kamilla Kjeldsen, Denmark, in the women's championship match, 197-191. 
The championship match in the Brunswick Ballmaster Open at Tali Bowling Stadium in Helsinki was an all-Finnish affair. Lasse Lintilä (pictured left), the Finnish anchor man and two-time U.S. Mini-Eliminator champion defeated reigning World Games and World Cup champion Kai Virtanen (r.) in a one-ball roll-off, 10-8, after a 256-256 tie.
