Wu Siu Hong, Wendy Chai repeat as winners in the ABF Tour Tournament of Champions

2011ABFTToCWendyChaiWuSiuHong_small.jpgWu Siu Hong (pictured right) of Hong Kong and Malaysia's Wendy Chai (left) captured the men's and women's titles in the 2011 ABF Tour Tournament of Champions, the season-ending event of the 2011 Asian Bowling Federation Tour, Wednesday at Cozmo Bowling Center in Kuwait City, Kuwait. It was the second win for the Siu Hong after 2006 while Chai cruised to her third career victory in the ToC. When Siu Hong won his first title, Chai also won the women's title.

Ryan Lalisang, Hee Kar Yen win final leg of 2011 ABF Tour in Indonesia

Wu Siu Hong, Sharon Limansantoso finish season atop the men's and women's ranking

2011ABFT07RyanLalisangHeeKarYen_small.jpgLocal favorite Ryan Lalisang and Hee Kar Yen (pictured r-l) of Malaysia captured the men's and women's title in the final event of the 2011 Asian Bowling Federation Tour Tuesday at Jaya Ancol bowling center in Jakarta, Indonesia. In the men's title match, Lalisang defeated Badin Lertpirlyasakulkit of Thailand, 230-203, while Kar Yen edged Sharon Limansantoso, Indonsia, 47-39 in roll-off after a 198-198 tie. Limansantoso and Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong finished atop the women's and men's ABF Tour rankings.

Annop Arromsaranon, Tannya Roumimper bag titles in ABF Tour Hong Kong leg

2011ABFT06TannyaRoumimperAnnopArromsaranon_small.jpgAnnop Arromsaranon (r.) of Thailand and Indonesia's Tannya Roumimper (l.) won the men's and women's title in the ABF Tour Hong Kong, the sixth and penultimate event on the 2011 Asian Bowling Federation Tour. Annop rolled games of 234 and 257 on his way to the men's title match, where he defeated Hong Kong's No. 1, Wu Siu Hong, 249-213. The women's title match was an all-Indonesian affair with Roumimper beating fellow Indonesian national team member Sharon Limansantoso, 224-210.

First-time ABF Tour victories for Michael Mak and Julia Lam in Macau leg

2011ABFT05MichaelMakJuliaLam_small.jpgMichael Mak (l.), Hong Kong, and Macau's Julia Lam (r.) emerged as the mane's and women's champions at the Asian Bowling Federation Tour Macau leg July 3rd at COTAI International Bowling Center in Macau, China, to claim their first career titles on the ABF Tour. In an all Hong Kong affair, Mak pulled off a 225-198 win over fellow Hong Kong national team bowler Eric Tseng to claim the men's title, while Lam easily defeated compatriot Chan Weng Sam, 212-171, to land the second consecutive victory for a Macau woman.

Thai bowlers defeat Koreans to sweep titles in ABF Tour Thailand leg

Strike Bowl Ngamwongwan in Bangkok, Thailand. In the men's final, former national team member Kritchawat defeated Kim Byung Suk, Korea, 204-202, to claim the title. Yanee easily topped Jo Hyun-Jung, Korea, in the women's title match, 193-154. The fifth leg of the Tour will be held in Macau, China, on July 3.

Saudi Arabia's Khaled Al-Hamdan emerges victorious in ABF Tour Saudi Arabia leg

2011ABFT03FahadHamadAlIssaKhaledAlHamdan_small.jpgKhaled Al-Hamdan (pictured right) became the first Saudi Arabian bowler to win on the Asian Bowling Federation Tour when he captured the title in the Saudi Arabia leg Thursday at Universal Bowling Center in Riyadh. In the title match, the 17-year-old topped Mohammed Janahi, Bahrain, 212-192. The top 16 Asian bowlers in the 5th Kingdom International Open advanced to the ABF Tour Saudi Arabia leg contested in one-game single-elimination format.

The third stop of the 2011 Asian Bowling Federation Tour will be the Saudi Arabia leg on March 31st at Universal Bowling Center in Riyadh.

Compatriot Mohammed Kamel struggles in 10th frame to give Al-Dubyyan a 1-pin victory

The title match was an all-Kuwait affair with Al-Dubyyan defeating Mohammed Kamel Al-Zaidan (r.), 190-189,. The second stop of the 2011 ABF Tour will be held on March 23 at Cozmo Bowling Center in Kuwait City.
