Korea dominates Senior Masters at 12th Asian Seniors Tenpin Bowling Championship

Australia and Japan win Masters gold in men's and women's Grand Senior Division

2013AsSrCSeniorWomenMasters_small.jpg Korean bowlers dominated the Masters competition which concluded the 12th Asian Seniors Championship in Sydney, Australia. Ho Hui Jae averaged 234.81 for 16 games and received 110 pins bonus in round robin match play to capture the gold medal in Senior Men Masters while Lee Hwa Ja (pictured left, center) cruised to the women's title to sweep all five gold medal in the Senior Women division. John Sullivan, Australia, and Junko Kuji, Japan, won the Grand Senior titles.

Aussies Mick Talevski and Robert Zikman claim gold in men's Senior and Grand Senior All-Events; Lee Hwa Ja (KOR) and Junko Kuji (JPN) win the titles in women's Senior and Grand Senior All-Events

2013AsSrCLogo_small.jpg The Grand Senior men's and women's team from Japan as well as the senior men from Australia and the senior women from Korea earned the gold medals in the coveted four-player team events in the 12th Asian Seniors Tenpin Bowling Championship. Aussies Mick Talevski and Robert Zikman claimed gold in men's Senior and Grand Senior All-Events while Korea's Lee Hwa Ja and Junko Kuji of Japan won the titles in women's Senior and Grand Senior All-Events.

Australia, Japan, Korea lead at half-way mark of Teams Events at Asian Seniors Championship

With three more games in Teams to go on Tuesday, Australia's Mick Talevski, Robert Zikman and Lee Hwa Ja (KOR) and Junko Kuji (JPN) lead in men's and women's Senior/Grand Senior All-Events

2013AsSrCSeniorMenAustralia_small.jpgAustralia's team of four holds a commanding lead at the completion of Block 1 of the Senior Men's Teams event of the 12th Asian Seniors Bowling Championship currently underway at AMF Rooty Hill RSL Bowl in Sydney's west. Led by Victoria's Mick Talevski, who posted a 225.13 average this morning, Mario Cordedda, Bob Whybrow and Paul Terry tallied a three-game pinfall of 2725 or an average of 227.08. Going into tomorrow's final three games Talevski leads the division in All-Events.

Australia (2), Korea and Japan share the gold medals in Doubles at Asian Seniors Championship

2013AsSrCBobWhybrowPaulTerry_small.jpgAustralia (2), Korea and Japan shared the gold medals in Doubles on the second day of competition in the 12th Asian Seniors Tenpin Bowling Championship in Sydney, Australia. Men and women compete for medals in two age groups, Senior (50 & over) and Grand Senior (60 & over). Three Aussie Doubles pairs withstood the pressure of a determined Korean challenge to a clean sweep of the medals in Senior Men's Doubles. Bob Whybrow and Paul Terry (l-r) were victorious with a 2605 pinfall.

12th Asian Seniors Tenpin Bowling Championship gets underway with Singles competition

Japan, Philippines, Korea and Australia win the titles in women's and men's 50 & over and 60 & over divisions

2013AsSrCMickTalevski_small.jpg The 12th Asian Seniors Tenpin Bowling Championship got underway Saturday with the Singles competition at AMF Rooty Hill RSL Bowling Center in Sydney, Australia. Men and women from Guam, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Philippines and Australia competed for medals in two age categories - Seniors (50 & over) and Grand Seniors (60 & over). In a thrilling climax to the Senior Men's Singles, Australia's Mick Talevski (pictured) surged to victory with a perfect final game to score 1470, overtaking team-mate Steven Smith by eight pins.

Countdown to 12th Asian Seniors Tenpin Bowling Championship

2013AsSrCLogo_small.jpg Tenpin Bowling Australia is preparing to host an international bowling tournament attracting close to 200 players and officials at AMF's Rooty Hill RSL bowling center in Sydney's west. Teams of men and women aged 50 and over (Seniors division), and 60 and over (Grand Seniors) will compete in the 12th Asian Seniors Bowling Championship for gold, silver and bronze medals Singles, Doubles, Teams, All-Events and Masters.
