Korea led the medal tally with six gold, four silver and five bronze medals.

Ryan Lalisang (center) of Indonesia, who led the field after the first eight games on medium oil, posted the highest 1878 series on long oil Monday to earn the No. 1 seed for the Men's Masters stepladder finals starting at 5 p.m. local time (ICT). Trailing Lalisang by 145 pins to finish in second place was Hong Hae Sol (l.) of Korea, who leaped from fourth to second place with 3756. Hong will bowl Mostafa Al-Mousawi (r.) in the semifinal match. The Kuwaiti maintained third place with 3714.

New Hui Fen (center) of Singapore earned the No. 1 seed for the Women's Masters stepladder finals of the 23rd Asian Championships Monday, 5 p.m. ICT at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothin in Bangkok, Thailand. New, who averaged 236.13 on long oil winning five of her eight matches, widened her lead to 308 pins and is one win away from the gold medal. Her opponent in the title match will be determined between Korea's Son Yun Hee (l.) and Sin Li Jane (r.) of Malaysia.

New Hui Fen (center) of Singapore has almost secured her spot in the Masters finals of the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships as the women's round robin match play has reached the halfway point Sunday at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothin in Bangkok, Thailand. New averaged of 253.63 on medium oil and totaled 2099 pins to lead Lee Young Seung (l.) of Korea by 251 pins. Lee was second with 1848 and was followed by Alisha Nabila Larasati (r.) of Indonsia in third place with 1824.

Choi Bok Eum (l.) of Korea was 79 pins behind in second place with 1894 and was followed by Mostafa Al-Mousawi (r.) of Kuwait, who sits in third place with 1880.

Park Jong Woo, Shin Seung Hyeon, Kim Jun Yung, Kang Hee Won, Hong Hae Sol and Choi Bok Eum of Korea (pictured) averaged 228.47 for three games on medium oil Saturday afternoon at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothin in Bangkok, Thailand, to easily win the gold medal in the prestigious five-player Team event at the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships. Malaysia finished second and Thailand was third. Park Jong Woo earned the gold medal in All-Events by averaging 228.25 for 24 games.

Korea (pictured) with Jung Da Wun, Jun Gwi Ae, Kim Jin Sun, Lee Young Seung, Jeon Eun Hee and Son Yun Hee averaged 207.33 on medium oil to overtake Singapore and to win the first gold medal for the Korean women in the 23rd Asian Championships in the prestigious five-player Team event. The Koreans came out of the gates with a huge 1182 game to shoot into the lead and never looked back. Jung Da Wun averaged 222 for 24 games to earn another gold in All-Events.

A strong finish propelled Daphne Tan, Geraldine Ng, Jasmine Yeong-Nathan, Joey Yeo and New Hui Fen of Singapore (pictured) into the lead in the prestigious five-player Team event at the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships after the first block on long oil Friday in Bangkok, Thailand. The Singaporeans toppled 3344 pins (222.93) to lead Korea and Indonesia by 15 and 157 pins, resp. Japan's Misaki Mukotani, Japan, jumped into the lead in All-Events after 21 of 24 games.

Park Jong Woo, Shin Seung Hyeon, Kim Jun Yung, Kang Hee Won and Hong Hae Sol of Korea (pictured) rolled games of 1071, 1113 and 1052 on long oil to take the lead in the prestigious five-player Team event in the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships with 3236 pinfall total (215.73 average). Trailing Korea by mere 11 pins to sit in second place was Thailand on 3225 with Malaysia in third at 3193. Korea's Shin Seung Hyeon took the lead in All-Events after 21 of 24 games.

First-block leaders Park Jong Woo, Shin Seung Hyeon and Hong Hae Sol (l-r) widened their lead from 123 to 316 pins in a span of three games on long oil to cruise to the gold medal in Men's Trios at the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. The Koreans started the day with a solid 637 game before they closed out with huge 728 and 747 for 2112 series 234.67 and 4254 total, an overall average of 236.33, to set new Asian Championships Trios records for three and six games.

Holding a 27-pin lead heading into the second three-game block of the Women's Trios event, Geraldine Ng, Joey Yeo and New Hui Fen (l-r) posted the second-highest series on long oil to maintain a four-pin lead and to win the first gold medal for Singapore at the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships. The Korean women took the silver and bronze medal. Sin Li Jane of Malaysia remained atop the leaderboard in All-Events but her lead shrank from 141 to 56 pins.

The Singaporeans averaged 211.11 including team games of 677, 591 and 632. Malaysia's Sin Li Jane held on to the lead in All-Events after 15 of 24 games with 3480 and an average of 232.

After a clean sweep of the medals in the Doubles event, the Korean men have their sights set on the Trios title in the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothin in Bangkok, Thailand. Hong Hae Sol, Park Jong Woo and Shin Seung Hyeon (l-r) averaged 238 in the first three-game block on the medium lane conditioning pattern including a high game of 783 to lead the field of 41 trios from 21 countries with 2142 pinfall total.

Sin Li Jane and Syaidatul Afifah (l-r) out averaged their nearest competitors by more than 11 pins to win the first gold medal for Malaysia in the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships in Women's Doubles Tuesday at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothin in Bangkok, Thailand. The duo led the 37 doubles from 13 countries with 2773 total and an average of 231.08. Li Jane holds a holds 183-pin lead in All-Events after 12 of 24 games with 2866 total and an average of 238.83.

After a slow start into the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships, the Korean men rebounded with a clean sweep of the medals in the Doubles event Monday at Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothin in Bangkok, Thailand. Doubles World Champions Choi Bok Eum and Park Jong Woo (l-r), who bowled in the third and last squad, averaged 237.17 on the medium lane conditioning pattern to claim to the gold medal with 2834 total. Team mate Hong Hae Sol took the lead in All-Events.

Yusuke Yamamoto and Mirai Ishimoto swept the gold medals in Singles for Japan in the opening event of the 23rd Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. Yamamoto (l.), rolled two consistently high three-game blocks on long oil to lead the men's field with 1401 total and an average of 233.50. Ishimoto (r.) fired the highest six-game series of the event with 1445 (240.83 average) to cruise to the women's title.

The 2015 Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships will be held from January 15-26 Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl Ratchayothin in Bangkok, Thailand. The Championships, originally scheduled for May 2014, will kick off Thursday, Jan. 15, with the opening ceremonies starting at 5 p.m. ICT. 22 member federations of the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) have registered for the 23rd edition of the event and nominated 201 athletes, 125 men and 76 women, as well as 70 offcials.
