Al-Abadia ends 3rd West Asian Games with victory in Masters

2005_WAG_5722.jpg Nayef Al-Abadia upset local favorite Mubarak Al-Muraikhi to end the bowling competition in the 3rd West Asian Games at Qatar Bowling Center in Doha, Qatar with victory in the Masters. In the championship match over two games total pinfall, Al-Abadia topped Al-Muraikhi, 422-392. Qatar led the medal tally with 4 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Al-Hajri and Al-Awadhi win first gold medals at West Asian Games

Saeed_Al-Hajri_2898.jpg Nadia Aqeel.jpg Saeed Al-Hajri of Qatar and Nadia Al-Awadhi, Bahrain, started the 3rd West Asian Games at Qatar Bowling Center in Doha, Qatar, with victory in the men's and women's Singles. Al-Hajri, who hasn't bowled for a year, celebrated a great come back and took the men's gold with 1361, six-game total. Al-Awadhi, who became the first Arab woman to reach a World Cup final in Slovenia last month, totalled 1091 to finish well ahead of the rest of the field.
