Rocio Restrepo, Francois Lavoie are PABCON Champion of Champions

2016PCCOCRocioRestrepoFrancoisLavoie_small.jpg Rocio Restrepo of Colombia and Canadian Francois Lavoie emerged as Masters champions in the 4th PABCON Champion of Champions tournament which concluded Monday at Noria Pro Bowling in Puebla, Mexico. Both championship matches in best-of-three games format went the distance. Restrepo came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Stefanie Johnson, United States, 2-1. Top-seeded Lavoie secured a 2-1 victory over Chris Via, United States, with a 235-191 win in the decider.

USA sweeps Doubles gold medals at PABCON Champion of Champions

Colombia, USA, Venezuela qualify for 2017 World Games

2016PCCOCWorldGamesQualifiers2_small.jpg Team USA swept the gold medals, Colombia the silver medals and Venezuela the bronze medals in the Doubles competition of the 4th PABCON Champion of Champions tournament Sunday at Noria Pro Bowling in Puebla, Mexico. The top three countries after eight games in Singles and eight games in Doubles automatically qualified for the 2017 World Games, which will be held in Wroclaw, Poland. Those three countries were Colombia, United States and Venezuela (pictured).

Colombia sweeps Singles titles at 4th PABCON Champion of Champions

Guerrero (l.) averaged of 230 for eight games to lead the 25-player women's field with the field-best 1840 total. Otalora (r.) survived a late scare from Ildemaro Ruiz Jr. to beat out the Venezuelan for the top spot by three pins, 1828 to 1825.

Puebla, Mexico to host 4th PABCON Champion of the Champions Tournament

2016PABCONLogo_small.jpgThe city of Puebla in Mexico will host the Pan American Bowling Confederation (PABCON) Champion of Champions tournament April 22-26, 2016 at 36-lane Noria Pro Bowling. Two male and two female athletes from each of the 25 PABCON federations are eligible to participate in the COC tournament. The top three countries in both the men's and women's field automatically qualify for the 2017 World Games which will take place from July 20-30 in Wroclaw, Poland.

U.S Team selected for 2016 PABCON Champion of Champions

A total of 25 countries have been invited to compete at Noria Pro Bowling from April 22-26. The top three countries in both the men's and women's field automatically will qualify for the 2017 World Games, which will be held in Wroclaw, Poland.

Johnson and Smith totaled 2,826 for six games to take the top spot in Mixed Doubles at the Kegel Training Center in Lake Wales, Fla. Brazil's Marcelo Suartz finished on top of the Men's All-Events standings with 4,285 (238.06 avg.)

Suartz and Johnson maintained their round one lead en route to win the first gold medal of the championships with 2928 (244.00 average) and 2809 (234.08), respectively. Action shifts to Mixed Doubles competition on Friday.

Suartz toppled 1,457 pins on the short oil pattern, an average of 242.83 for six games, while Johnson had 1337 (222.83). Singles competition continues on Thursday with round two.

The event will also serve as a qualifying event for the 2013 World Games to be held in Cali, Colombia.

In the title match Brenda Edwards and John Janawicz (pictured left) defeated Patricia De Faria and Luis Olivo, Venezuela, two-games-to-one. Olivo and Aseret Zetteralso earned the first gold medals for Venezuela and Mexico when they won the men's and women's Masters titles Thursday at Metrobowl in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

The Colombians teamed to win the gold medal in Mixed Doubles and Country All Events. Otalora earned his third gold in men's All Events, while Granda won her second in women's All Events.

Granda, who rolled a 1576 series Monday in the first block on long oil, added 1825 on short to claim the women's gold medal with 3401 16-game total and an average of 212.56. Colon closed out his 1835 series on short with 770 to cruise to the men's title with 3512 (219.50).

Guatemala. 2009 World Games champion, Manuel Otalora (l.), and fellow Colombian national team member Rocio Restrepo (r.) set the pace in the men's and women's division on the long oil pattern with 1712 and 1675, respectively.

O'Keefe and Janawicz teamed up to defeat Guatemala's Sofia Granda and Mauricio Pinol, 2-0, at Galaxy Bowling to conclude the inaugural Championship of the Champions. Janawicz won his fifth gold medal of the championships in men's Masters, while Jessica Santiago, Puerto Rico, earnd her second gold in the women's Masters.

2008PABCONCoCShannonOKeefeJohnJanawicz_small.jpg Team USA's John Janawicz and Shannon O'Keefe swept the gold medals in singles Wednesday at the 2008 Pan American Bowling Confederation Championship of the Champions. Janawicz dominated the field, totaling 3,538 for 16 games, an average of 221, and won the title by more than 240 pins. Arturo Hernandez, Venezuela, took the silver with 3,296 and Mark Buffa of Canada won the bronze with 3,248. O'Keefe had a much closer victory, shooting 3,305 to edge Puerto Rico's Jessica Santiago by just 14 pins. Venezuela's Alicia Marcano took the bronze with 3,271.
