Venezuela's Karen Marcano ends PABCON Women's Championships with victory in Masters

Beats Colombia's Clara Guerrero in the title match, 2-1

The 31-year-old right-hander cut open her hand on a broken thumb slug but was able to patch it up and push through the pain in a dramatic 2-1 victory over Colombia's Clara Juliana Guerrero (right) at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center.

Team USA wins gold in Team and All Events at PABCON Women's Championships

The top 16 players from the All Events standings advance to Friday's Masters match play

2010PWCTeamUSA2_small.jpgThe Team USA women posted a 6267 six-game total and claimed the coveted five-player Team title for the 13th time in the 15 years the event has been part of the PABCON Women's Championships. Colombia also finished strong and took the silver medal with a 6090 total, while Canada finished third with 6,068. Liz Johnson and Kelly Kulick added two more medals Thursday as they finished first and second in the All Events standings. Mexico's Sandra Gongora claimed the bronze medal.

Canada surges to Trios gold medal at PABCON Women's Championships

Despite being more than 200 pins out of the top spot after four games, the Canadians closed with sets of 725 and 739, to surge to the top of the standings with a 3917 in suburban Las Vegas on Wednesday. Mexico led from the start but finished the day 23 pins back with 3894, while Team USA settled for the bronze with 3819 thanks to a 710 finale.

Shannon Pluhowsky, Kelly Kulick claim Doubles gold at PABCON Women's Championships

2010PWCKellyKulickShannonPluhowsky_small.jpgAfter a frustrating Singles performance at the 2010 Pan American Bowling Confederation Women's Championships, Team USA's Shannon Pluhowsky (r.) was able to regroup and join Singles bronze medalist Kelly Kulick (l.) in a record Doubles effort Tuesday. The accomplished left-hander shot 1400 for her six games, while Kulick contributed 1380 to claim the gold medal with a 2780 total at Sunset Station Hotel and Casino's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas.

Stefanie Nation starts 2010 PABCON Women's Championships with victory in Singles

2010PWCSinglesTop3_small.jpgStefanie Nation (center), United States, showed off her world-champion focus and closed with two big games to claim the Singles gold medal at the 2010 PABCON Women's Championships at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in Henderson, Nev., on Monday. Nation closed out her six-game block with 268 and 245 for a 1372 six-game total to beat out Venezuela's Alicia Marcano (l.) by three pins. Kelly Kulick (r.), USA, was another two pins behind to finish third.

2010 PABCON Women's Championships officially open

2010PWCKellyKulickPlayersOath_small.jpgSixty bowlers from 13 countries took part in the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Pan American Bowling Confederation Women's Championships at Sunset Station Hotel and Casino's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon. The players participated in the traditional march of countries before a full house of spectators as the tournament staff declared the event officially open. USBC will provide wire-to-wire live streaming coverage of the event beginning Monday at 1 p.m. Eastern.

2010PWCLogo_small.jpg The United States Bowling Congress will host the 2010 PABCON Women's Championships from Sept. 25 - Oct. 2, 2010 at 72-lane Strike Zone Bowling Center, inside the players' hotel, Sunset Station Hotel and Casino, in the city of Henderson, Nevada. 14 PABCON member countries have announced to send at least one or maximum six players to compete for medals in six events - Singles, Doubles, Trios five-player Team, All Events and Masters match play. USBC will provide live streaming broadcasts from the event.
