U.S. Teams selected for 2016 PABCON Adult Championships

2016TeamUSALogo_small.jpgWith the growth of the Junior Gold Championships presented by Storm, Roto Grip and Master, and the addition of the Under-15 Developmental Team, the Team USA bowling program continues to evolve as a training ground for some of the world's best competitors. When Team USA hits the lanes at Bolera Departamental in Cali, Colombia, for the 2016 PABCON Adult Championships from Sept. 12-23, 10 of the 12 players will boast both Junior Team USA and Team USA experience.

John Janawicz captures Masters gold at 2015 PABCON Men's Championships

Puerto Rico's Michael Fonseca earns silver medal; his teammates Israel Hernandez, Cristian Azcona share the bronze

2015PMCUSAJohnJanawicz_small.jpgTeam USA's John Janawicz (pictured) won the gold medal in Masters to cap off the 2015 Pan American Bowling Confederation Men's Championships in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Friday. Janawicz cruised to a 2-0 victory over Puerto Rico's Michael Fonseca in the best-of-three championship match at AMF Bolera Paradise Lanes in San Juan, Puerto Rico. "I was able to line up pretty quickly and I think that made it a little tough for him to come back," said Janawicz, who won silver in Masters at the 2007 PABCON Men's Championships.

Colombia beats USA for the Team gold at PABCON Men's Championships

Host Puerto Rico takes the bronze medal; Team USA's Marshall Kent captures the All-Events title

2015PMCTeamColombia_small.jpgColombia (pictured) grabbed the gold medal in the team event at the 2015 PABCON Men's Championships in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Thursday, snapping Team USA's 26-year run of team titles in the event. Colombia posted a 6,223 pinfall total (207.4 average) to beat Team USA (6,162) by 61 pins with Puerto Rico taking third with a 6,075 total at AMF Bolera Paradise Lanes. Team USA's Kent captured the All-Events title with a 5,383 total (224.3 average).

USA takes gold, silver in Trios at PABCON Men's Championships

Marshall Kent leads in All-Events heading into the final six games in the Team event on Thursday

Team USA's John Janawicz (c.), Marshall Kent (r.) and Sean Rash (l.) earned the gold medal with a six-game total of 3,879 at AMF Bolera Paradise Lanes in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Kent leads in All-Events heading into the final six games in the Team event on Thursday.

Host Puerto Rico's Cristian Azcona, Israel Hernandez take Doubles gold

Team USA earns silver, bronze at PABCON Men's Championships

2015PMCDoublesCristianAzconaIsraelHernandez_small.jpg Puerto Rico took the gold medal, while Team USA earned the silver and bronze medals Tuesday in the doubles event at the 2015 Pan American Bowling Confederation Men's Championships. Cristian Azcona and Israel Hernandez gave host Puerto Rico the gold medal with a six-game total of 2,739 (228.3 average) on the 39-foot Seoul pattern at AMF Bolera Paradise Lanes in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The victory gave Puerto Rico its first doubles title in the event since the 1993 American Zone Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico.

2015PMCSinglesPodium_small.jpgFueled by three big games, Team USA's John Janawicz (center) captured the gold medal in Singles Monday in the opening event of the 2015 PABCON Men's Championships. Janawicz had a six-game total of 1,319 (219.83 average) to take the gold medal at AMF Bolera Paradise Lanes in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His teammate Chris Barnes (l.), who bowled alongside Janawicz in Singles, took the silver medal with 1,316, while Venezuela's Reydnier Chavez (r.) captured the bronze with 1,296.

Team USA roster set for PABCON Men's Championships

PABCONLogo.jpgTeam USA will send a talented group of six bowlers to represent the United States at the 2015 Pan American Bowling Confederation Men's Championships in Puerto Rico next month. The U.S. team will be made up of Chris Barnes of Double Oak, Texas, John Janawicz of Winter Haven, Florida, Tommy Jones of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Marshall Kent of Yakima, Washington, Bill O'Neill of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, and Sean Rash of Montgomery, Illinois.

Danielle McEwan caps PABCON Women's Championships with Masters gold

2014PCWomenMasterstop4_small.jpgDanielle McEwan capped off a dominating week for Team USA as she won the Masters gold medal Wednesday to give the U.S. five of the six gold medals at the 2014 Pan American Bowling Confederation Women's Championships. McEwan defeated teammate Missy Parkin, 2-1, in the best-of-three championship match at the Cali Bowling Coliseum. Parkin earned the silver medal while her team mate Liz Johnson and Clara Guerrero of Colombia shared the bronze medal.

Team USA wins Team, sweeps All-Events at PABCON Women's Championships

Team USA (pictured) dominated the field to win the team gold medal, swept the All-Events medals and qualified for the 2015 Pan Am Games on Tuesday in an eventful day at the 2014 PABCON Women's Championships. Team USA took the lead by nearly 150 pins after the first game of team event and never looked back en route to a record-breaking six-game total of 6,738 at the Cali Bowling Coliseum. Canada took the silver with 6,301, and Mexico earned the bronze with 6,195.

USA wins gold, silver in Trios at PABCON Women's Championships

Host country Colombia earns bronze; Colombia's Clara Guerrero rolls the second perfecto of the Championships

2014PCWomenKulickMcEwanParkin_small.jpgIn a tight race to the finish, Team USA earned the gold and silver medals in the trios event Monday at the 2014 Pan American Bowling Confederation Women's Championships. Shannon O'Keefe, Danielle McEwan and Missy Parkin (l-r) combined to shoot 3,885 to capture the gold medal at the Cali Bowling Coliseum. Their eammates took the silver with 3,860. Host Colombia finished 26 pins out of first and one pin out of second with 3,859 in what was a close battle until the final frame.

Kamilah Dammers and Thashaina Seraus win silver, the first medal in PABCON Women's Championships history for Aruba; Team USA's Shannon O'Keefe and Danielle McEwan take bronze

Parkin put together a six-game total of 1,498, while Kulick added 1,363, as the pair rolled to the title at the Cali Bowling Coliseum. Aruba's Kamilah Dammers and Thashaina Seraus won the silver, while Team USA's Shannon O'Keefe and Danielle McEwan took the bronze.

Colombia's Clara Guerrero takes Singles gold at PABCON Women's Championships

Two-time World Champion kicks off the PABCON Women's Championships in Cali, Colombia, with record-setting performance; wins her second career gold medal in PABCON Women's Championships

2014PCWomenClaraGuerrero_small.jpgColombia's Clara Juliana Guerrero (pictured) broke the Pan American Bowling Confederation Women's Championships Singles record en route to the gold medal Saturday in her home country. Guerrero blasted a six-game total of 1,498 (249.67 average) to earn her second career gold medal in the PABCON Women's Championships. Team USA's Kelly Kulick earned the silver and teammate Liz Johnson took the bronze at the Cali Bowling Coliseum. After starting with games of 233, 290 and 223, Guerrero closed out her singles event strong with 248, 259 and 245.

The PABCON Women's Championships, which begin Saturday live on BOWL.com's BowlTV, will be the final opportunity for the United States' women's team to qualify for the Pan American Games, which will take place in Toronto, Canada, next year.

The U.S. team, which will be coached by Team USA head coach Rod Ross (pictured), will be made up of Shannon O'Keefe of O'Fallon, Illinois, Missy Parkin of Laguna Hills, California, Liz Johnson of Cheektowaga, New York, Danielle McEwan of Stony Point, New York, Shannon Pluhowsky of Dayton, Ohio, and Kelly Kulick of Union, New Jersey.

Pluhowsky, the reigning World Champion in Masters, defeated teammate Liz Johnson, 238-226, to win the women's title, while Lambert fired a perfect game in defeating Puerto Rico's Francisco Colon, 300-175, at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas.

Team USA sweeps Team and All Events gold medals at PABCON Championships

2012PCLogo2_small.jpg The Team USA men and women swept the gold medals in Team and All Events Friday at the 2012 PABCON Adult Championships. The U.S. women broke the record for six-game team total with 6,713 as they rolled to the gold medal by 256 pins over Mexico. The Team USA men shot 6,687 and finished 194 pins ahead of Mexico. Bill O'Neill and Liz Johnson captured the gold medals in All Events. The top 24 men and top 24 women in the All Events standings advanced to Saturday's Masters competition.

The USA leads Mexico by just 11 pins in the women's team event with 3,349 pinfall on the Stockholm pattern, while Mexico totaled 3,338. Venezuela is third with 3,073. On the men's side, Team USA leads Puerto Rico by 45 pins. The U.S. totaled 3,317, while Puerto Rico had 3,272. Canada is third with 3,22.

Alicia Marcano, John Janawicz win Singles titles at PABCON Combined Championships

2012PCJohnJanawiczAliciaMarcano_small.jpgAlicia Marcano and Team USA's John Janawicz won the women's and men's Singles titles in the opening event of the 2012 Pan American Combined Championships Monday at Sunset Station's Strike Zone in Las vegas. Janawicz had a monumental comeback in the final game to win the men's gold medal with with 1,449 six-game total and an average of 241.50. Marcano closed strong with games of 245 and 236 to claim the women's title with 1,368 (228 average).
