Ron Oldfield, Angie Brown win men's and women's title in Plaza Senior Open

    Oldfield shoots two 300 games on his way to the title

    2012ISBT01AngieBrownRonOldfield.jpg Former English international Ron Oldfield and his fellow countrywoman Angie Brown (pictured) captured the men's and women's title in the Plaza Senior Open, which was held from Feb. 8-12 at Plaza Bowling in Reims, France, The tournament was the season-opening event of the 2012 International Seniors Bowling Tour.

    Oldfield, who led the top eight men into the final match play round, posted games of 277, 216, 235, 211, 234, 290 and 215 for the field-best 1678 total and added 180 bonus pins and 147 pins handicap (21 per game) to cruise to the men's title with 2760 total.

    Former Belgian standout, Chris Vandamme was 253 pins behind in second place with Barry Horne, United States, in third at 2449.

     Angie Brown dominated the top 8 women in round robin with 1610 total including games of 192, 216, 259, 228, 245, 290 and 180 and added 180 bonus pins and 28 pins handicap (4 per game) to win the women's title with 1818 total.

    Trailing Brown by 271 pins to finish in second place was Petra Duplois, Germany, who checked in with 1547. Yvette Murrath, Belgium, took third place with 1515.

    The second event of the 2012 ISBT is Arthur's 7th Senior Open, which will run from March 5-11 at "Bowlingcenter am Bahnhof" in Osnabrück, Germany.
