After three defeats in Asian Bowling Federation Tour title matches, Yousif Falah (pictured left) of Bahrain finally got the monkey off his back when he defeated compatriot Masoud Saberi, 217-180, to notch his first career ABF Tour win at the International Bowling Center in Cairo, Egypt.

It was the second title within a week for the Bahraini, who also won the 14th Sinai International Open, which served as the qualifier for fourth leg of the 2012 ABF Tour.

The top 16 Asian bowlers of the Sinai Open qualified for the single-elimination one-game match play rounds.

Falah, who averaged 235 in the finals, started with a 234-189 victory over Fadhel Al-Mousawi, Kuwait, then eliminated Mahmoud Mazloum, Egypt, 235-218, before he flew past Jassim Darwish, Kuwait, in the semifinals, 254-149.

Saberi (right) stunned ABF Tour Bahrain winner, Andrew Frawley, Australia, in the Round of 16, 233-189, then ousted Thailand's Peerawich Rungchareon, 200-177, and Yannaphon Larp-apharat, 191-187, to advance to the title match.

With the victory Falah overtook the lead in the ABF Tour men's point ranking.

The ABF Tour takes a one-month break before heading to Hong Kong, China for the 38th Hong Kong International Open (June 3-9 ), the qualifier for the ABF Tour Hong Kong leg on June 10.

The 2012 ABF Tour consists of eighth tournaments - four in the Middle East, all without a women's division, and four in East Asia, all including a women's division.

Bowlers earn ranking points based on how they finish in each event. Those points will be tabulated throughout the season to determine the top 16 men and top 16 women who will qualify for the Tournament of Champions to be held in 2013.
