Tomas Leandersson back on the Swedish National Team



    2005EBT15TomasLeandersson.jpg Hans Karlsson, press officer of the Swedish Bowling Federation, reported that Tomas Leandersson is back on Team Sweden for the 2006 World Championships.

    The Korea Bowling Congress will host the inaugural World Tenpin Bowling Championships for Men from August 27 through September 9, 2006 at the Asiad Bowling Center in Busan, South Korea.

    This will be the first time the men's worlds are conducted separately from the women and the fifth World Championship appearance for the long-time Swedish No. 1.

    Leandersso, 40, has won at least one medal in each of the four World Championships he has participated in. 1991 as a rookie, Leandersson won bronze in Masters in Singapore. He earned his first gold medal in Doubles 1995 in Reno and added Silver in Team and Bronze in Trios. His second gold came with the five-player team 1999 in the UAE, where he also won bronze in All Events. He added two more gold in Malaysia 2003 in Doubles and Team.
