10/23/12

United States Bowling Congress Hall of Famer Dana Miller-Mackie (pictured left) of Albuquerque, N.M., earned the top seed Monday for the stepladder finals of the 2012 USBC Senior Queens presented by Storm.
Miller-Mackie defeated 2010 Senior Queens champion Char Hammel (right) of Las Vegas, 605-597, to earn the top seed. Hammel will be seeded second, while Anne Marie Duggan of Edmond, Okla., and Tish Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo., will be the third and fourth seed, respectively.
The stepladder finals will take place Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Eastern at the International Training and Research Center and will be broadcast live on BOWL.com's BowlTV.

"Char and I didn't have our finest hour in that final match, but I'm thrilled to have earned the top seed," said Miller-Mackie, who went undefeated in four matches to earn the top seed. "I definitely will have to make better shots than I did in that final match today, and I need to put a focus on fundamentals."
In the final matches to make the stepladder finals, Duggan (left) defeated Kristy Whitcher of Belfair, Wash., 656-629, while Johnson (right) knocked off Carole Jones of Englewood, Colo., 631-538.
The finals will feature three members of the USBC Hall of Fame - Miller-Mackie, Duggan and Johnson - as well as Hammel, who finished second in last year's Senior Queens as the defending champion. The winner of the Senior Queens will take home a top prize of $2,400.
