Chan Shuk Han, Yannaphon Larp-apharat win 2012 ABF Tour Tournament of Champions

    2012ABFTToCChanShukHan.jpg2012ABFTToCAngkanaNetrviseth.jpgChan Shuk Han (pictured left) of Hong Kong and Thailand's Yannaphon Larp-apharat won three matches en route to capture the women's and men's title in the Tournament of Champions, which concluded the 2012 Asian Bowling Federation Tour.

    Chan, seeded fifth in the single-game, single-elimination bracket finals, topped No. 4 seed, Angkana Netrviseth (right) of Thailand, in the women's title match, 211-180, to claim the title and the US$10,000 top prize.

    In the opening round, the former Asian and ABF Tour point ranking leader, defeated No. 2 seed, Sharon Limansantoso, Indonesia, by mere four pins, 213-209, before she flew past her team mate, third-seeded Milki Ng, 207-159, in the semifinals.

    Netrviseth edged Tang Joh Six, Malaysia, 208-205 and then sidelined qualifying leader Putty Armein, Indonesia, in the semifinals, 182-148.

    Yannaphon eliminated UAE bowlers Hussain Al-Suwaidi, UAE, 208-203, and Shaker Al-Hassan, 216-202, on his way to the title match.

    Frawley stunned No. 1 seed, Wu Siu Hong, Hong Kong, in the opening round, 210-203, and ousted fourth-seeded Mohammed Janahi of Bahrain, in the semis, 223-201.

    The top 16 in the men's and women's point ranking of the 2012 Asian Bowling Federation Tour advanced to the Tournament of Champions.

    The winner of each match advanced and the loser was eliminated. The men's champion received the US$20,000 top prize while the women's champion walked away with US$10,000.
