Hong Kong TBC releases Bulletin No. 1 for the 17th Asian Youth Championships

The boys and girls Masters stepladder finals will be staged at the 12-lane training facility inside the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI), which opened its doors in February. The center consists of six Brunswick and six AMF lanes, respectively, and is a smaller replica of the International Training and Research Center at the USBC headquarter in Arlington, Texas.

This is the first of its kind in Asia. Researches can be done as the bowling center has all the equipment that the ITRC has and is also supported by the Sports Science and Sports Medicine Department of the HKSI offering a magnificent gym with the latest equipment for strengthening and conditioning. Overseas teams are invited to come and train in this center.

The Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress has invited the members of the Asian Bowling Federation to participate in the 17th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships September 7-14, 2013 at South China Athletic Association Bowling Center, a 60-lane center (40 lanes suitable for international events and another 20 lanes) located inside the SCAA sports complex at Causeway Bay in Hong Kong, China.
The Championships will feature maximum four boys and four girls from each member federation. Currently ABF has thirty-nine (39) members: Australia, Bahrain, Brunei, China, DPR Korea, Egypt, Ethiopia, Guam, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kuwait, Libya, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippine, Qatar, Saipan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Syria, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, Tunisia, UAE, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and the host country Hong Kong.
Boys and girls will compete in separate divisions for gold, silver and bronze medals in five disciplines: Singles, Doubles, four-player Teams, All Events and Masters.
In Singles, Doubles and the Team event, the players and teams with the highest pinfall total after six games will be declared the champions. The top 16 players in All Events (18-game total; combined pinfall in Singles, Doubles and Team) will advance to the Masters finals.
