Joonas Jehkinen wins his first EBT title in 4th Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open by Erdinger

    Runner-up Mai Ginge Jensen (DEN) wins women's ranking en route to regain lead in the 2013 EBT women's point ranking

    2013EBT04JoonasJehkinen2.jpg2013EBT04MaiGingeJensen.jpgJoonas Jehkinen (pictured left) of Finland averaged 251.33 in the final round of the 4th Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open by Erdinger en route to win his first European Bowling Tour title and the 6.500 Euro first prize Sunday at Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring/Munich, Germany.

    Jehkinen, who held a 51-pin lead heading into sixth round of the finals, totaled 3086 pins and averaged 237.83 for 13 games. Mai Ginge Jensen (right) of Denmark made a run at the title opening the four-player finals with a 279 scratch game.

    Jehkinen, the 2012 European Champion in All Events, countered with 266, 237 and 251, while Jensen, the 2011 Women's World Champion in All Events, closed with 213 and 234 for 3031 total including eight pins handicap each game, an average of 225.15 scratch.

    2013EBT04BjornEinarRudshagen.jpg2013EBT10DanielFransson.jpgJensen pocketed 4.500 Euro for second place and by virtue of winning the women's ranking in the event, worth 150 points, she regained the lead in the 2013 EBT women's point ranking.

    Bjørn Einar Rudshagen (left) of Norway, who was looking for his second EBT title and also to become the first multiple champion this season, finished 201 pins behind Jehkinen in third place with 2885 (221.92 average), worth 3.500 Euro.

    Daniel Fransson (right) of Sweden was another 50 pins behind and pocketed 2.500 Euro for fourth place with 2835 (218.08).

Josefine Linderoth (right) of Sweden set an high light in Final Round One where she posted the second 300 game of the tournament and the first by a woman.

    In three four-game rounds the field was trimmed to 12 players who carried over the four-game total from Round Three into three three-rounds with the four lowest scores after Round Four and Five eliminated. The remaining four players determined the champion.

    2013EBT11DreamBowlPalaceOpenLogo_small.jpg The 4th Track Dream-Bowl Palace Open by Erdinger is the 11th stop of the 2013 European Bowling Tour and the fourth out of six EBT "Gold" tournaments this season. The tournament will be held July 20-28 at 52-lane Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring near Munich, Germany.

    The DBO offers total prize fund of 70.000 Euro with 6.500 Euro going to the winner, 4.500 to the runner-up, and 3.500 and 2.500 Euro to the third and fourth place finisher, respectively. Low to cash is 64th place for 500 Euro.

    The Dream-Bowl Palace Open features a 42 feet Kegel Sport Series Autobahn 2542 lane conditioning pattern with 25.85 ml volume oil total.

    Qualifying (six-game series, unlimited re-entries) ran from Saturday July 20, through Saturday, July 27. Women receive 8 pins handicap each game throughout the entire tournament, a standard for women on the European Bowling Tour.

    A total of 64 players including the top 50 from the overall qualifying standings plus the top 6 from Squads 1-7, the top 4 from the Desperado Squad and the top four from a "High-Low" list (lowest and highest game added together; additional 10,-€ per squad) qualified for the finals on Sunday, July 27. The top 8 qualifiers received two byes, while qualifiers 9-16 bypass the first round of the finals.

    Three four-game rounds each starting from scratch will trim the field to 40, 24 and then twelve players, who will carry forward their third-round pinfall total into the first of three three-game rounds which will trim the field to eight and then four players who will determine the champion.

    2013EBTLogo_small.jpg The 2013 European Bowling Tour consists of 19 tournaments in 13 countries including two Platinum, six Gold, four Silver and seven Satellite events.

    The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event earn ranking points based on how they finish. The winner of a Platinum tournament receives 250 ranking points, the winner of a Gold tournament such as the Dream-Bowl Palace Open gets 150, the winner of a Silver tournament earns 100, and the winner of a Satellite tournament gets 50 ranking points.

    Points are tabulated throughout the season and the top 12 men and the top 12 women qualify for the seventh EBT Masters to be held March 3, 2014 at Dolfijn Bowling in Tilburg, Netherlands immediately following the EBT Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament 2014.

    The European Bowling Tour takes a six-week break during the World Senior Championships and the men's and Women's World Championships in August in Las Vegas and will commence with the Russian Open, an EBT Satellite event, which will be held at Cosmik Belay Dacha in Moscow from Sept. 10 thru 14, 2013.
