Massimo Endrizzi, Gianluca Bini add their names to the leaderboard in Florence

    Italians move to the top of the Squads 9-17 leaderboard; Antonino Fiorentino remains qualifying leader with after 14 squads with 1278; cut for 38th place is 1112 (185.33 average)

    Endrizzi started his six-game block with a high game of 252 and closed with 203 to beat out Bini for the top spot by one pin, 1224 to 1223. The Italians positioned themselves atop a separate leaderboard of squads 9-17 with Diego Biolghini (right; 1212) and Massimo Isoppo (1183) of Italy in third and fourth place.

    After the completion of squads 15-17 on Wednesday, the top 4 of that list have secured their spots in Sunday's finals.

    2013EBT18AntoninoFiorentino.jpg2011EBT11DanteDidonFrancesco.jpgAs qualifying has reached the halfway mark, squad 6 leader Antonino Fiorentino (left) of Italy continued to lead a field of 110 players, 108 from Italy plus Filipino Freddie Lorbis (1108, 41st) and Spaniard Ricardo De Andres Bermejo (970, 90th), with 1278 or an average of 213 for six games.

    The two other squad leaders on Tuesday, Alessandro Martino (squad 14 - 1176) and Dante Didon Francesco (squad 12 - 1166) moved into 15th and 19th place in the qualifying standings.

    Pamela Frioni (below right) is the best of 16 women in the tournament in 23rd place with 1158 including 48 pins women's handicap. Massimiliano Di Sisto holds the 38th and final spot to qualify directly for the finals with 1112 or an average of 185.33.

    2013FlorenceInternationalLogo.jpg The 2nd Florence Ebonite International is the 18th and penultimate stop of the 2013 European Bowling Tour and the last of seven EBT "Satellite" events this season. The tournament will be held from Nov. 2-10, 2013 at 18-lane Crazy Bowling in Florence, Italy.

    The Florence International offers total prize fund of 33.240 Euro with 6.000 Euro going to the winner, 3.000 Euro to the runner-up and 1.500 Euro apiece to the third and fourth place finishers.

    The qualifying of the Florence International runs from Saturday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 9 with the final Squad 28 scheduled to start at 9 p.m. local time (CET). Qualifying concludes with the one-game Desperado Squad short after Midnight. Women receive 8 pins handicap each game, a standard on the European Bowling Tour

    A total of 50 players will advance to the finals on Sunday, Nov. 10 including the top 38 qualifiers, four players each from a separate leaderboard of the Squads conducted on Nov. 2-3 and Nov. 4-6 plus the top four players of the Desperado Squad. The qualifying leader and the runner-up will cash for 300 and 200 Euro, resp. The top 14 qualifiers will receive one bye.

    The other 36 finalists will bowl four games scratch. The top 18 of Round 1 will meet the top 14 qualifiers in Round 2. The top 16 after another four games scratch advance to the Eliminator round finals.

    Those 16 will be divided into four groups of four players. All players will bowl a two-game match with the two lowest scoring players in each group eliminated. The two highest scoring players from each group advance to the next round, where they will be re-seeded and split into two groups of four.

    After another two-game round the two highest scoring players from each group advance. Those four players will determine the two finalists in another two-game round. The remaining two players will determine the champion in a final one-game match.

    2013EBTLogo_small.jpg The 2013 European Bowling Tour consists of 19 stops in 13 countries including two Platinum, six Gold, four Silver and seven Satellite tournaments.

    The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. The winner of a Platinum tournament receives 250 ranking points, the winner of a Gold tournament gets 150, the winner of a Silver tournament earns 100, and the winner of a Satellite tournament such as the Norwegian Open 2013 by Brunswick gets 50 ranking points.

    The top 12 men and the top 12 women at the end of the 2013 season qualify for the seventh EBT Masters to be held March 3, 2014 at Dolfijn Bowling in Tilburg, Netherlands immediately following the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament 2014.
