Sweden's Kevin Karlsson wins his first EBT title in 2nd Florence Ebonite International

    Joline Persson Planefors wins women's ranking in Florence

    2013EBT18KevinKarlsson.jpgKevin Karlsson of Sweden (pictured left) defeated his compatriot Jesper Larsen, 230-194, to win his first European Bowling Tour and the 6.000 top prize in the 2nd Florence Ebonite International Sunday, November 10, at Crazy Bowling in Florence, Italy.

    2013EBT18Top4.jpg Karlsson (479) and Larsen (435) eliminated Jaroslav Lorenc (421), Czech Republic, and Frederik √ėhrgaard (375), Denmark, in the final two-game eliminator round to advance to the championship match.

    Larsen earned 3.000 Euro for second place while Lorenc and √ėhrgaard got 1.500 Euro apiece for third and fourth place. L-R Larsen, Karlsson, Lorenc and √ėhrgaard.

    2013FlorenceInternationalLogo.jpg The 2nd Florence Ebonite International was the 18th and penultimate stop of the 2013 European Bowling Tour and the last of seven EBT "Satellite" events this season. The tournament was held from Nov. 2-10, 2013 at 18-lane Crazy Bowling in Florence, Italy.

    The Florence International offered total prize fund of 33.240 Euro with 6.000 Euro going to the winner, 3.000 Euro to the runner-up and 1.500 Euro apiece to the third and fourth place finishers.

    The qualifying of the Florence International ran from Saturday, Nov. 2 through Saturday, Nov. 9and concluded with the one-game Desperado Squad. Women received 8 pins handicap each game, a standard on the European Bowling Tour

    A total of 50 players advanced to the finals on Sunday, Nov. 10 including the top 38 qualifiers, four players each from a separate leaderboard of the Squads conducted on Nov. 2-3 and Nov. 4-6 plus the top four players of the Desperado Squad. The top 14 qualifiers received one bye.

    The other 36 finalists bowled four games scratch. The top 18 of Round 1 met the top 14 qualifiers in Round 2. The top 16 after another four games scratch advanced to the Eliminator round finals.

    Those 16 were divided into four groups of four players. All players bowled a two-game match with the two lowest scoring players in each group eliminated. The two highest scoring players from each group advanced to the next round, where they were re-seeded and split into two groups of four.

    After another two-game round the two highest scoring players from each group advanced. Those four players determined the two finalists in another two-game round. The remaining two players determined the champion in a final one-game match.

    2013EBTLogo_small.jpg The 2013 European Bowling Tour consists of 19 stops in 13 countries including two Platinum, six Gold, four Silver and seven Satellite tournaments.

    The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event receive ranking points. The winner of a Platinum tournament receives 250 ranking points, the winner of a Gold tournament gets 150, the winner of a Silver tournament earns 100, and the winner of a Satellite tournament such as the Norwegian Open 2013 by Brunswick gets 50 ranking points.

    The top 12 men and the top 12 women at the end of the 2013 season qualify for the seventh EBT Masters to be held March 3, 2014 at Dolfijn Bowling in Tilburg, Netherlands immediately following the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel Tournament 2014.

    The 2013 European Bowling Tour will conclude with the 125.000 Euro Qatar Bowling Open, an EBT Platinum event, which will be held from Dec. 4-10 at the Qatar Bowling Center in Doha.

    The two highest scores advance to the championship match, the two lowest scores eliminated, finish 3rd and 4th accoring to their position in this round, earn 1.500 Euro each.

     


    2013 Florence Ebonite International - Eliminator Round Two


    The two highest scores advance, the two lowest scores eliminated, finish 5th thru 8th according to the seeding, earn 800 Euro each.

     


    2013 Florence Ebonite International - Eliminator Round One


    The two highest scores advance, the two lowest scores eliminated, finish 9th thru 16th according to the seeding, earn 600 Euro each.

     


    2013 Florence Ebonite International - Final Round Two


    The top 16 advance to the Eliminator finals. Places 17-32 eliminated, earn 410 Euro each.

     


    2013 Florence Ebonite International - Final Round One


    The top 18 advance to the second round. Places 19-36 eliminated, finish 33rd thru 50th, earn 310 Euro each.
