2013USBCWCMiniTvaska.jpgAfter 67 consecutive years on the lanes at the United States Bowling Congress Women's Championships, Mini Tvaska (pictured at the 2013 event) of St. Petersburg, Fla., decided to take the year off and did not compete alongside her teammates this week at the 2014 event.

The 96-year-old started her tournament career at the 1947 event in Grand Rapids, Mich., and had been to every tournament since.

She is the event's participation leader and one of just four women to eclipse the 60-year participation mark. Her record-setting appearance came at the 2008 USBC Women's Championships in Detroit, where she competed for the 62nd time.

She rolled games of 181, 166 and 184 for a 531 series and moved past Kelly Plantenberg of Bloomington, Minn., who previously held the lead with 508.

Rafferty added a 436 set in doubles and 415 in team for a 1,382 total, which is second in Division 6 All-Events. Terry Fallon of Natick, Mass., holds the top spot with 1,396.
