The 24-year-old right-hander rolled games of 209, 212, 257, 246 and 222 for a 1,146 second-round effort and a 10-game total of 2,326, a 232.6 average.

Opening-round leader Ashly Galante of Palm Harbor, Fla., sits in second with 2,227, and two-time National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association Most Valuable Player Tannya Roumimper of Indonesia is third with 2,244.

"I just felt really comfortable the past two days," said Hamilton, who won the 2014 USBC Team Trials. "I've been able to find a look pretty quickly both days. For tomorrow, I'm just going to try and keep a loose swing and get as many pins as I can."

Qualifying will continue with five more games Monday. After the 15 games, the top 31 competitors from the 178-player field will join defending champion Diana Zavjalova of Latvia for double-elimination match play, which will begin Tuesday at 1 p.m. EDT.

Zavjalova finished the second day in eighth place with a 2,208 total. Should she not qualify for match play, she automatically will earn the 32nd seed.

Match play will continue Wednesday, and the final five players will advance to the stepladder finals, which will be televised live on ESPN2 on July 3 at 7 p.m. EDT. The winner will take home the coveted tiara and $20,000 of the more than $91,000 prize fund, which includes a $20,000 contribution by presenting sponsor Storm.

All of the qualifying rounds and match play competition at the 2014 Queens are being broadcast live on BowlTV. The Queens is open to any female USBC member.
