Seo Hyo Dong, Billy M Islam achieve perfection; roll 300 to lead Boys Masters after Round One

    Koreas Seo and Indonesia's Islam average over 240 to lead the top 16 boys in All-Events after the first block on medium oil with 2054 and 2002 totals

    Seo led the top 16 players in All-Events (combined scores in Singles, Doubles and Teams) with 1994 pinfall, an average of 249.25 for eight games, and added 60 bonus pins (10 pins per win) for 2054. His 300 came in game four and was the third perfecto of the Championships.

    Islam, who won gold in All-Events at the 2013 AYC in Hong Kong, accomplished the feat in game three on his way to 1942 series (242.75 average) and 2002 total.

    Adam Svensson of Australia was just seven pins behind Hernandez with 1901 (237.63) and 1951 total. Four-time gold medalist Muhd Rafiq Ismail (right) of Malaysia was further 17 pins behind in fifth place with 1879 (234.88) and 1934 total.

    The top 16 girls and boys in All-Events return on Tuesday for the second eight games on long oil. The top three boys and girls advance to the stepladder finals starting at 4.10 p.m. China Standard Time (CST) Tuesday.

    The 18th Asian Youth Championships in Macau, China, will be held March 24-31 at 24-lane Macau Bowling Center inside the Cotai International Sports Complex in Macau, China.

    The Championships drew 98 players, 58 boys and 40 girls, from 15 member countries of the Asian Bowling Federation - Australia, Bahrain, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

    Up to four boys and four girls per country who must not be born before January 1, 1995, will bowl in separate divisions for gold, silver and bronze medals in five disciplines: Singles (contested on medium oil), Doubles (long oil), four-player Teams (first block long, second block medium), All Events (18 games; combined scores in Singles, Doubles and Teams) and Masters match play (top 16 in All-Events; first block medium, second block long).

    Competition concludes on Tuesday, March 31, with the boys and girls Masters stepladder finals followed by a victory banquet.
