2015RUSCAlexeyParshukovMariaBulanova.jpg2015RUSCRussianField.jpgDefending Russian champions Maria Bulanova of Nizhny Novgorod and Alexey Parshukov of Krasnodar (pictured left, r-l) dominated the Russian Championships 2015 which took place April 28th to May 3rd at Russian Field (right) in St. Petersburg, the biggest bowling center in Russia.

The event combined the Russian Individual and Team Championships, which were held separately in previous years, and drew 166 participants from 14 regions of Russia, 112 men and 54 women.

The Championships was played on 42 feet (long) and 38 feet (medium) lane conditioning pattern and featured four events each in men's and women's division, Singles, Doubles, Trios and Team plus a Mixed Doubles event.

In each event, the top four after six games of qualifying advanced to the playoffs to determine the medalists. No. 1 bowled No. 4 and No 2 took on No. 3 in the semifinal matches. The winners bowled for gold and silver and the losers determined the bronze medalist.

As the repeat winners in the All-Events standings (non-medal event), Bulanova and Parshukov will represent Russia in 2015 European Championships Cup October19-26 in San Marino.

The top six women in All-Events, Bulanova, her team mate Kristina Kryl, Moscow's, Alena Korobkova, Daria Voronkova and Nadezda Korablinova as well as St. Petersburg's Anastasia Tikhonova made the Russian team for the 2015 Women's World Championships December 5-14 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

2015RUSCMariaBulanova.jpgBulanova (left), the youngest player in European Bowling Tour history to win an EBT title (2013 Russian Open at the age of 14) won four out of possible five gold medals in Singles, Doubles, Trios and Team and also finished fourth in Mixed Doubles.

2015RUSCWomenTeamNiznyNovgorod.jpgAfter defeating top-seeded Alena Korobkova for the Singles title, 279-224, Bulanova teamed with Kristina Kryl to win in Doubles. The duo teamed with Daria Minenko to capture the Trios title and joined forces with Maria Koshel, Elena Sazonova and Ksenia Smotrova.

The success of the Bulanova and her team mates from Nizhny Novgorod (pictured right with coach Starchenkov) came at the expense of the bowlers from Moscow, who lost all four title matches from the No. 1 seed.

Maria Bulanova rolled the lone 300 game by a woman in game four of the Trios qualifying. She averaged 226.70 for 30 games to win in All-Events, outaveraging second-placed Kristina Kryl by almost 15 pins.

2015RUSCMenTeamChampion.jpg2015RUSCAlexeyParshukov300.jpgParshukov defeated Nikita Koshelev of Moscow, 202-193, to claim the Singles title. Koshelev rebounded with victory in Doubles and Trios before he teamed with Parshukov and Yan Korshak, Aleksander Medveditskov, Ivan Semenov and Andrey Suslov to win the coveted Team gold medal (pictured left).

The team featuring four bowlers from Moscow and two from Krasnodar were the only top-seed who was able to hang on for the victory and the gold medal. Parshukov (right), who posted the lone 300 game by a man in semifinal on challenging dual lane condition (one lane with long, the other lane with medium oil).

He finished atop the All-Events standings averaging 224.13 for 30 games with Andrey Suslov of Krasnodar 62 pins behind in second place.

2015RUSCMixedDoublesTop3.jpgThe Mixed Doubles title went to St.Petersburg after Alexey Vasilenko & Anastasia Tikhonova (center) defeated top-seeded Aleksander Medveditskov & Varvara Korobkova (left) of Moscow in the title match, 424-401.
