Paul Moor, Laura Beuthner come from behind to win EBT Masters 2015

    2014EBT16LauraBeuther.jpgSeeded third in the three-player stepladder finals, Paul Moor (pictured left) of England and Laura Beuthner (right) of Germany, won two matches to win the men's and women's titles in the 8th European Bowling Tour Masters 2015 Monday afternoon at Bowling Chamartín in Madrid, Spain.

    In an all-lefty men's title match, Moor topped Brunswick Madrid Challenge winner and No. 1 seed Jesper Svensson, a two-handed player from Sweden, 224-216, while Beuther defeated top-seeded Diana Zavjalova of Latvia, 191-180. It was the first Masters title for Beuther and the second for Moor.

    In the opening match between two former EBT Masters champions, 2009 winner Moor defeated Finnish two-hander Osku Palermaa, winner of the inaugural Masters in 2008, 257-217. In an all-German semi-final match Beuther ousted last year's runner-up Birgit Pöppler, 220-212.

    The EBT Masters treats men and women equally with 3.000 Euro each going to champions Moor and Beuther. The first runner-ups, Svensson and Zavjalova, received 2.000 Euros apiece and the third-place finishers, Palermaa and Pöppler, pocketed 1.700 Euro.

    2015EBTMastersLogo2.jpg The 8th EBT Masters, which featured a 30.000 Euro prize fund (15.000 per gender), was the season-ending event of the 2014 European Bowling Tour. The top 50 men and the top 50 women in each event earned ranking points based on how they finished in the events.

    Those points were tabulated throughout the 2014 EBT season to determine the top 12 men and top 12 women who qualified for the EBT Masters. All players bowled 12 games in two six-game blocks with the top 3 advancing to the stepladder finals.
