Singles champions Ong and Kim claim second gold medal; Singapore and Korea win Trios event in Busan

    AG2002.jpg Men's singles champion Remy Ong, Singapore, followed his female counterpart Kim Soo-Kyung when he captured his second gold medal at the Asian Games in Busan in the trios event. Korea.

    Ong and his teammates Sam Goh and Lee Yu Wen felled 3961 pins, an average of 220. Filipinos C.J Suarez, Chester King and Leonardo Rey Jr. finished with a strong 691 three-game series to tie the UAE for the silver medal with 3874.

    Women's Singles champion Kim Soo-Kyung teamed with Cha Mi-Jung and Kim Yeau-Jin to win the second gold medal for Korea in the women's trios. Overnight leader Korea fell from the top spot into third during the second block and left it until the last game to regain control of the 10-nation field.

    Mi-Jung (264), Soo-Kyung (247) and Yeau-Jin (189) put together an outstanding 700-series to overtake Huang Chung-Yao, Wang Yi-Fen and Wang Yu-Ling of Chinese Taipei by a mere 9 pins. The bronze medal went to Malaysia.
