Alexander Gogolev only took over as the President of the FSBR two months ago and commented: "I feel myself truly honored to be the President when the Federation hosts this major world event. It will coincide with the 10th anniversary of the FSBR so we will be able to have a double celebration."

"I am delighted that the Bowling World Cup will be coming to Russia for the first time," Wood said. "People here are very keen on sport and bowling is growing fast. I'm sure the top class competition will attract many spectators and I am looking forward to working with the Federation to ensure the success of the 43rd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup".

The tournament, which is the biggest annual sports event in the world in terms on number of nations competing, will be held in a 32-lane centre in the Continent Shopping Mall in the historic city of St Petersburg, from November 3-11, 2007.

Center Manager Igor Schubert is convinced all the players, officials and supporters will be impressed: "A warm welcome will await everyone. Our center opened in September last year and boasts the most up-to-date equipment and the shopping center is also bound to be an attraction! The city itself will look stunning in mid-November and there is something for everyone here."
