Chen Kuan Ting and Hung Kun Yi of Chinese Taipei started the 14th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships at the Holiday Inn Lido Beijing bowling center in Beijing, China, with victory in the girls and boys Singles competition.

Chen used a high game of 268 and a pair of 240s to finish with 1337 six-game total, an average of 222.83, en route to win the gold medal in the Girls Singles. The silver and the bronze medal went to China, as Wu Suqin and Zhang Qian checked in with 1312 and 1288.

The top girls beat boys champion Hung, who rolled six games between 201 and 235 to secure the Boys title with 1283 and an average of 213.83. Shota Kawazoe of Japan took the silver medal with 1264, while Mohammad Alzaidam, Kuwait, who was mere one pin behind Kawazoe, had to settle for bronze.

117 youth bowlers from 19 countries - 75 boys and 42 girls - compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, Team, All Events and Masters.
