Clean sweep in Masters for Japan in 9th Asian Seniors Bowling Championships

    2007AsSBCLogo.jpg Japanese bowlers Yasuo Nishida (Men Senior), Junko Kuji (Women Senior), Toshihiro Takahashi (Men Grand Senior) and Yuriko Suzuki (Women Grand Senior) earned the gold medals 15-18 in the 9th Asian Seniors Bowling Championships when they swept the Masters titles at Circuit Bowl in Suzuka, Japan.

    The Asian Seniors Bowling Championships are divided into four divisions - Men's and Women's Senior (50-59 years old) and Men's and Women's Grand Senior (60 years and older).

    222 players - 134 men (64 seniors and 70 grand seniors) and 88 women (47 seniors and 41 grand seniors) from seven countries - Australia, Chinese Taipei, Guam, Japan, Korea, New Zealand and the Philippines - competed for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, 4-Player Team, All Events and Masters.

    The team from the host country took the lion's share of the medals winning 18 gold, 13 silver and 6 bronze. Chinese Taipei (2-1-2), Korea (1-4-8) and Australia (0-1-4) took the others.
