Duke signs two year contract extension with Storm
07/15/08
Storm staffer Norm Duke has signed a two year contract extension with the Brigham City, Utah based manufacturer of high performance bowling balls. Duke, who battled injuries most of the 2007-08 PBA Tour season, won two majors, the 65th U.S Open and the Denny's World Championship last year.
The comeback was one of the greatest feats ever on the Professional Bowlers Tour.
"I came back hungry as hell," said Duke, summing up his year end performance. "When you go through injuries like I did, you seem to become forgotten and omitted. I kept believing in myself and so did Storm."
Duke became just the second bowler in history to win the four Grand Slam events – the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Masters, Tournament of Champions, World Championship and the U.S. Open. The Clermont, Florida resident has 29 PBA Tour titles, tied for seventh all-time.
"I rely on being at my best," said Duke. "Storm equipment allows me to be my best. Storm was behind me the entire year and our negotiations took about five minutes. I will be throwing Storm bowling balls the rest of my career."
