Team Canada moved from fourth to first place in the last game to take the lead in Girls Team event after the first block on long oil in the 10th World Youth Championships Tuesday afternoon at Boardwalk Bowl in Orlando, Florida, USA.

Jo-Ann Sanesac, Kodee Pilling, Alyssa Cicconi and Jennifer Besana saved the best for the last game when they rolled an 880 game, the second-highest game of all 25 teams, to finish the day with 2484 3-game total and an average of 207.00.

Malaysians Zatil Iman, Sharon Koh, Zandra Aziela and Esther Cheah, who were targeting to follow in the footprints of the Malaysian boys team, had to settle for second place with 2461 (205.08).

Germany with Janine Gabel, Birgit Pöppler, Juliane Rieger and Tina Hulsch closed out with a huge 859 game to land in third place with 2455 (204.58). Singapore was close behind finishing with a 856 game to leap into fourth place with 2435 (202.92).

The team event will conclude Wednesday with the final three games of the preliminaries before the field is cut to the top four teams for the semifinals.

Rocio Restrepo (pictured right) of Colombia used a 607 series in team event to maintain her lead in girls all events with 3247 15-game total or an average of 216.47.

Indonesia's Tannya Roumimper is 30 pins behind in second place with 3217, with Mexican Sandra Gongora another 11 pins behind in third at 3206. All three players bowled excellent on the short oil pattern, which will be used on Wednesday for the final block of the team event.

The top three players after the conclusion of singles, doubles and team (18 games overall) will earn the gold, silver and bronze medal in All Events. The top 16 players will advance to the best-of-five, single-elimination Masters competition on Thursday.
