India's hopes in QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup rest on young shoulders

The Tenpin Bowling Federation of India, TBF (I), has announced that Rahul Solanki will be India's representative in the men's division of the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. The prestigious event will be held at Bol 300 in Hermosillo, Mexico from Nov. 7-15, 2008.
22-year-old Rahul, who will make his first BWC appearance, was selected based on his performance at the 20th ABF Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships (Hong Kong, China), the WTBA Men's World Championships (Bangkok, Thailand), the 20th Indian National Tenpin Bowling Championships (Bangalore, India) and the recently concluded second Indian National Team Tenpin Bowling Championships (Chennai, India).
"The TBF (I) Selection Committee felt that Rahul deserved an opportunity to continue his learning process. Rahul has shown great potential over the past two years and it is our hope that through overseas exposure in prestigious tournaments like the QubicaAMF World Cup, where he meets world-class athletes and coaches, he could not only become a better athlete, but could also bring back valuable experience to share with his fellow bowlers", says TBF (I) Secretary-General, R Kannan.
"In was always my opinion that tenpin bowling is a sport in which India has the ability and potential to have world-class athletes and hopefully champions in future. We hope that Rahul will be able to inspire others and contribute to the growth of the sport in our country", added Mr. Karti P. Chidambaram, President, TBF (I).
