2008BWCLogo.jpg Cebu City's talented young lady bowler Kim Lao will try to bring glory to the country as she competes on Nov. 7 to 15 in the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup at Hermosillo, Mexico.

Lao, who is now in Mexico with her parents and Coach Jojo Cañare, will be representing the Philippines in the women's category and will take on the best bowlers of the world in this annual competition.

The 18-year-old Linguistics student of the University of the Philippines Diliman earned her ticket to this world tournament after she dethroned last year's representative and veteran bowler Liza Del Rosario last September in the 2008 Bowling World Cup National Finals at the Mall of Asia.

Along with Lao, representing the country in the men's division will be Jeffrey Carabeo.

Lao, who is a member of the Bowlingplex Tenpin Association, said last week before she left for Mexico that she will do her best and focus on the games at hand. She also added that she is very ecstatic to represent the country in an international tournament for the first time.
