Thai men and Indonesian women earn top seeds for ABF Tour Tournament of Champions Finals

    ABFTourLogo_small.jpg Somjed Kusonpithak and Sithiphol Kunaksorn, both Thailand, and Tannya Roumimper and Sharon Limansantoso, both Indonesia, earned the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds for the single-elimination finals of the ABF Tour Tournament of Champions at Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta, Indonesia.

    2007ABFT02SomjedKusonpithak_small.jpg Kusonpithak (right) averaged 218.71 on the second day of qualifying and won all but one of his seven matches to leap to spots in the lead in the men's division with 3334 15-game total and an 11-4 won-loss record. Starting the day in 11th place, Kunaksorn posted the highest score of the day with 1606 and won all seven matches to rocket into second place with 3299 (11-4).

    2008BHROpenWuSiuHong_small.jpg Wu Siu Hong (left), Hong Kong, moved up two places to third with 3280 (10-5) behind a 1512 series and a 5-2 match play record on Saturday. Fourth place belonged to local favorite Ryan Lalisang, Indonesia, who used the second-highest 1539 series and a 5-2 record for 3252 pinfall total (9-6).

    2008AsCChesterKing_small.jpg Day one leaders Chester King (right) and Biboy Rivera, both Philippines, slipped to sixth and fifth place, with 3244 (12-3) and 3245 (9-6) respectively. Andrew Frawley, Australia, finished qualifying in seventh place with 3158 (9-6).

    2008 ABF Tour point ranking leader Shaker Al-Hassan grabbed the 8th and final spot with 1385 and a 9-6 won-loss record.

    2008WYCTannyaRoumimper_small.jpg Trailing day one leader Sharon Limansantoso by 11 pins Tannya Roumimper (left) rolled the second highest 1460 series (208.57 average) and won five out of seven matches to lead the qualifying in the women's division with 3261 and a 9-6 won-loss record.

    2008ASCYangSuiling_small.jpg Limansantoso secured the No. 2 seed with a solid 1377 block (4-3) and a 3179 total (9-6). China's Yang Suiling l(right) eaped from 7th to third place behind the field-best 1508 series (215.42) and a 5-2 match play record. Suiling chalked up 3168 pins including 100 bonus (10 per win).

    2007SinaiOpenKimEunJung_small.jpg Tang Joh Six, Malaysia, averaged 192.43 on day two but won six of the seven matches to maintain the fourth place with 3072 and the field-best 11-4 match play record.

    Kim Eun Jung (left), Korea, landed in fifth place with 3025 (10-5). 2008 ABF Tour point ranking leader Vanessa Fung, Hong Kong, was four pins behind in sixth place with 3021 (8-7) with Zhang Yu Hong, China, another pin behind Fung in seventh place with 3020 (8-7).

    The top 8 men and the top 8 women will return on Sunday for the singles-elimination finals.

    Match 2: Ryan Lalisang, Indonesia vs. Chester King, Philippines
    Match 3: Wu Siu Hong, Hong Kong vs. Shaker Al-Hassan, UAE
    Match 4: Sithiphol Kunaksorn, Thailand vs. Biboy Rivera, Philippines

    Women Division - Quarterfinal Draw
    Match 1: Tannya Roumimper, Indonesia vs., Zhang Yuhong China
    Match 2: Tang Joh Six, Malaysia vs. Chen Dongdong China
    Match 3: Yang Suling, China vs. Kim Eun Jung, Korea
    Match 4: Sharon Limansantoso, Indonesia vs., Vanessa Fung Hong Kong

    In the semifinals the winner of Match 1 meets the winner of Match 2 while the winner of Match 3 takes on the winner of Match 4.
