Paeng sets new 3-game record

    20090630PaengNepomuceno.jpgSix-time world champion Paeng Nepomuceno set a new Bowling World Cup qualifying three-game record with a series 815 last Sunday at the Superbowl Bowling Center in Makati City.

    Nepomuceno rolled games of 257, 269 and 289. He rolled 10 consecutive strikes in the last game of the qualifying sponsored by AMF Puyat and co-sponsored by Amway Nutrilite.

    According to Kenneth Gavino, marketing manager of AMF Puyat which has been sponsoring the local eliminations for the past 40 years, Nepomuceno's feat is a new World Cup qualifying record.

    The top 12 qualifiers in each division with the highest three-game series at the end of each period will qualify into the Center finals.

    There will be two Center finals corresponding to the two periods of qualifying rounds. The first period will end next week.

    Each Center finals will have the ladies' and men's qualifiers playing 12 games with their total pinfalls determining the qualifier to the National Finals.


    The 45th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup will be held from Nov. 14-21, 2009 at Melaka International Bowling Center in Melaka, Malaysia.
